Which slot is the video slot ?
I have a 1500\2000 and on the motherboard has these slots
listed from left to right looking from the front of the computer. 1 x inactive XT isa slot 1 x inactive XT isa slot 1 x inactive AT isa slot inline with zorro II 1 x inactive AT isa slot inline with zorro II 1 x zorro II slot (Is this the video slot ?) 1 x zorro II slot 1 x zorro II slot 1 x processor slot Can someone confirm which one is meant to be the video slot ? Also...what would happen if i put this in one of the other zorro II slots and not the video slot ? The graphics card i am trying to put into this computer is a Cybervision 64/3D. Whenever i put this card into the machine i get random crashes... Would Super Buster 11 solve this ? |

You should be able to use the CV64/3D in ANY of those Zorro II Slots, the Video Slot is for the Scandoubler/Flickerfixer and is located to the right of the PSU
![]() The SuperBuster 11 Issue is an A4000 only thing, this got nothing to do with A2000 .... SuperBuster 11 fixes some errors in DMA Timing for Zorro III Slots/Cards which the A2000 doesn´t have ![]() |

Hmmmm......so why does it crash ?
Is it because i already have 8 meg of memory (1meg chip,7 meg fast) and there isn't any more room for the 4meg Cybervision card ? |

Just had a look into the manual and yes, that may be the clue
![]() First make sure the CV64/3D is using the first ZII Slot right beside the CPU Slot (recommended) and then take out 3MB of Fast Mem, Chip Mem isn´t a problem .... so that you got only 4MB Fast left .... now put in the CV64/3D and go into the Early Startup Menu and have a look if your card is working correctly .... |

Early startup menu reports 8512\67 (Cybervision card) is working correctly....
Won't even boot up now....just comes up with a window with an error message in it ! Before,it was actually loading into workbench.....but as soon as i try to enter the workbench screenmode in preferences or the picasso96 settings it would crash straight away ! |

Put it back as it was.....
I have 4 meg on my scsi controller and 4 meg on my 68030 accelerator. Disabled the 4 meg on the accelerator (didn't want to do this) and the graphic card runs like a dream ! Only problem now is that my Amiga is running as slow as shit ! hahaha...... Any ideas why the graphics card doesn't seem to like the memory on the accelerator card ? |

If you want more memory, you need to get hold of an accelerator that uses 32Bit Memory, like the Blizzard 2040/2060 for example, most 030er cards only support 16Bit Memory and so do most SCSI Controllers ....
And the A2000 can only adress 8MB of 16Bit Fast Ram ![]() |

seems to be running stable with the following adjustment....
1 out of the 4 - 1mb simms on the accelerator card was different, So,i took them all out and put a pair of exactly the same simms back. The machine now has : 1 mb chip ram 2 mb fast ram (accelerator) 4 mb video ram (Cybervision 64\3d) ![]() Its ashame i can't put no more than 8mb in this machine though ![]() |

The video slot is the lone slot between the power supply and the right edge of the case.
The CV64/3D however is a Zorro card, you don't need a video slot for that. The optional scandoubler module would plug into a video slot, but it doesn't work with the A2x00.. |

You can fit a lot more RAM on a good 32bit accelerator, however! I have 64MB on my Blizzard 2060. I only have a CV64/3D and a GG2+ card in the Zorro II slots, so I still have plenty of 16bit space. :-) Some older accels map the RAM low by default, however.. Perhaps there's a jumper to make the RAM show up somewhere high in the address space.. Then you might need a separate util to add it to the memlist if your accel is too old to automatically add it. |
