Need help writing Eprom
Hi everyone
Could someone please unravel what feels like a can of worms I've unintentionally opened. So I bought a CDTV a while back and I've slowly been trying to buy parts and upgrade it. Part of the upgrade was installed the 2.35 extended from by CDTV land. I was able to get a pair of roms made by someone with a programmer but when they arrived, the chips didn't work. The CDTV would just post to the 1.3 kickstart and not the CDTV splash screen. I've since been on the CDTV FB page and it's been suggested to me that the 27C2001 chips that the extended roms were written to, are not pin compatible and that is why the CDTV wouldn't work with them. This I believe has something to do with them being JEDEC,. when they need to be Non-JEDEC. For the record I've been using an eprom programmer since Sunday, I'm as green as you can get and I feel like I've entered a hell hole of contradicting information. Things I would LOVE to know 1. What eproms should I be buying, that I can write to and simply drop in to the CDTV 2. Can the two, 27C2001 chip I have be used, someone suggested pin swapping to me. But I'm not sure how I'd do that Any help would be appreciated :-) |

you need 27c1000 eproms and then you need a special adapter that fits in the TL866 programmer to be able to program them as yes two pins need to be swapped
