It's not a demo. It's the full game and was part of the Promotion Pack included in some variants of the A500 and A600. I doubt it is any different.

I have about 9 copies of that Lemmings Promotional Pack disk

However, The Magic Seven (Rainbow Arts-Compilation) looks interesting, can the be dumped? What do you dump with, Kryoflux, Greaseweazle or SuperCard Pro?

I have a Greaseweazle for dumping. Also real Amigas to do it the old SPS way (or is their dumping tool outdated by now?).

SPS only accept Kryoflux dumps now. If you're using a Greaseweazle use --revs=5 when dumping so it samples more tracks.

Why do you think? That game was always free. It's just the disk from some random German PD distributor. But I can check if there is anything special about it.

Also funny that "The Magic Seven" comes on 6 disks.

I dont think that McDonald Land from Virgin was free. It can be different game with same title or maybe cracked game.

I doubt it is a different game. It was advertised in German mags back then by many PD distributors as a free, promotional game. Virgin sold a commercial, boxed version, of course. Maybe the demo was given out as PD. I'll check it later.

Hol says there is 6 disks so dump them!

Just check the surfaces are clean and free from dirt/mold before dumping, a lot of people don't realise how dirty disks get when left for years without use so they don't check/clean them.

McDonald Land is indeed the demo. Does not say that anywhere, however. Only the disk label "Demo" gives it away. ADF is in the zone. Works fine and had no read errors.

Having another dump also helps, if one dump is bad you can use the other dump to repair it or check if any disks are modified.

Good point, Barry. But (in case you know the compilation in detail) don't have too high hopes to find file "man02" of Detector intact. I had 3 sets of the compilation over the years and they all had the same read error for that file.

What's up with that file exactly and on which disk is it? I can dump that first then.

Dear derSammler,

thank you so much!

"Man02" is the second cartoon-animation that is shown in the highscorelist. It is on Detector Disk 1. That would be disk 3 of the Magic Seven-compilation.

All releases of the game Detector (retail, budged Germany, budget UK) have a bad "man02-"file, but at least it can be read. The animation is just slightly damaged. But the Magic Seven-release has a "real" read error on that file and the game crashes.

Take care, Patrick
