Wierd keyboard issue

I have this A500 that I got some time ago, it had almost no keys working, so I changed the membrane. Now I have 5 keys still not working. I have swapped known working keyboards with other amigas so I know it is working.
So I swapped CIA-chips with known working ones and it's not that either.

So then I tried diagrom (and later the amiga test kit), here is the wierd part - the keys seem to register fine when I test them - but in CLI, workbench and applications, nothing happens when i press the affected keys.

It is the top row of the numeric keypad and the plus-key also on the numeric keypad. (The keys hexcodes are 5A - 5E).

I also tried switching Gary and the KS to be sure, but that's not it.

Anyone have any idea whats going on? Kind of on my wits end here..

Thanks! / Jan

Well if they keys are registering fine in the Amiga Test Kit and the diagrom I would say that most probably you are facing a software issue. Perhaps boot a plain 1.3 Workbench disk and try then?

I tried quite a few disks and the issue is there regardless.

The 1.x ROM keymap has no glyphs for these keycodes. Boot into a WB1.3 disk that runs setmap in its startup-sequence and the extra numpad keys will start working.

The ROM keymap only has what the A1000 had.

Thanks Jope! Never knew, that was it
At least I got to test a lot of chips from a donor board I've got.
