A600 Romulator 1.01a issues

Hi,

Am installing a Romulator A600 1.01a bought from Amiga On the Lake for a mate after a fresh recap of his 600 but the thing just doesn't want to work. Confirmed the A600 otherwise works perfectly and soft resets with either a standard 2.05 or 3.1 ROM.

Symptoms: Monitor turns on but machine sits there, caps lock stuck on.

KBRST tried on multiple points - bottom of transistor as per instructions, directly on Gayle and directly on RST. Tried with SD card in and out. Romulator lights up LED1 and LED2 but that's it. No other life.

It's feeling like a dud Romulator but open to any other suggestions?
