custom adf and copy protection under WinUAE

Hello all,

Is it possible to copy the deluxe paint II (key disk) to be usable under WinUAE ?
If yes, how? with what tool ?

Is it possible to copy Amax disks (custom gcr format) for the same.
Amax can be launched under WinUAE, but mac icon claims a disk...

This is not by nostalgia, but to keep these historical pieces working
Many thanks

Yes, I suppose you can use rawread.
It works for a lot of protected disk (altough some protections are too tough for it).

Yes, it's possible . See this thread:

It's VERY long...
Do you own an Amiga 1200?
Do you have some A-Max disks? (I mean: disks in A-Max format)

Oups, never seen that bumps

I didn't succeed in dpaintII copy protected...

I got the system 6.0.4 on amax format disks, and all 7.0 on PC formatted disks.
The 6.0.4 is small enough to be on an 800 KB disk.
With it I can partition a hd, copy the 7.0 onto and install 7.0 (I done this 20 years ago... ) After that, you can use PC formatted disks to exchange data between amax and others. I wondered if I can do the same with WinUAE, but I can't copy my disks images from my true amiga (rawread don't work with PC formatted disks nor GCR disks)

hmm.. sometimes an error-protected floppy disk needs more than 1 try with rawread... unless it indeed has a protection not supported by rawread (for example, variable density tracks etc.).
Did you try rawread 2-3 times?

You could also use PowerCopy Pro, cracked by our mate StingRay. It's a very powerful copier (the best, I should say), and it can save track "images" on disk for later writing on another disk (it can do copies of many original games). Dlfrsilver knows it very well.

In the thread I mentioned some posts above there's a reliable method, found/explained/developed/discussed by me, prowler and cosmicfrog, to succesfully transfer Mac disk image files to A-Max format. The thread is VERY long though..
My intention is to make a good summary, when I'll find the time
