A500+ hard drive options?

Hi

Got an A500 here with 2.04 kickstart. I would like to equip it with a CF based hard drive. Can anyone let me know what the options are? I'd prefer something small that fits inside the case, and cost is important as well.

I take it that it doesn't already have an IDE interface like the A600, so that has to be first port of call?

Thanks

JonB

Amiga 500 doesn't have an IDE interface but you could equip it with an internal IDE adapter like this http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=7158.

CFIDE68k was being made by Mr.Mkl but I've not seen him selling them for a while. There was word that Kipper2k on this forum was going to remake it and you could buy it together with his 8Mbyte RAM card for the ultimate unaccelerated A500+

Hmm alexh, your name and avatar looks familiar, have we met on another forum?

I have expressed an interest on that thread, thanks very much! I just hope it's not too expensive. Will I need a KS upgrade? Just double checked, and I have 2.05 37-300 on my motherboard right now, contrary to my OP. I think it has IDE support but not sure.

Cheers

You wont need to upgrade your Kickstart for A500 HDD options as they either emulate A600 IDE (like the IDE68k) or have their own bootable driver.

It might also be worth waiting for the Zeus 68k or ACA500, I'm personally going to buy both

I'm extremely excited about the Zeus68k though
