Reunion unreleased CD version
I remember someone uploading an unreleased CD version that had extra animations. I searched the file server but couldn't find it.
I even managed to implement those files to the game. |

It must have been there when Magix was hosting the FTP. Yup, have managed to download. Put it in The Zone! to make it easier for others |

Thanks for that, great find!
I have put together a CD32 ISO (in the zone) with a knocked up intro picture to select between intro and game. Sadly the fake mouse trick using the 'lemmings planetside' disc naming made the intro crash, so a real mouse is required and no save to nv-ram is working. So looks like its in-complete in that regard, although you get extra sfx and speech on in-game stuff compared to the A1200 HDD version, although i didn't play it further to find out what other extra stuff is included. And it states 'Reunion CD32' in the credits section in the game too. |

Saves work like the AGA version, but after extracting the archive you need to create a "SAVE" directory:
Of course this won't work on a real CD32. |

So basically if this game was released, it would have been a Reunion you wouldn't be able to save? That's... something.

But i guess its part of why some games were delayed (before April 94 when a huge chunk simply got canned) coming out waiting for the official disk drive to release to support full saves. |

40kB, it really doesn't fit into 1kB non-volatile memory of CD32
OMG, Commodore... what were they thinking? |

Plus like any console none had enough NV-RAM to save complicated computer games, most CD based consoles had 1-16K NV or SRAM. What Commodore should have included was the memory card slot from the CDTV, that memory was dropping year on year, so the 64K card instead of £80 when it launched for CDTV could have been marketed for £30 for the CD32, and the 256K card would have been cheaper enough after a year or so, i know i would have got one to save bigger games. |
