Question The Installer Tool ...... out of package ?

Why the Installer Tool required by WHDLoad to be installed ......
IS NOT inside the package that i downloaded from http://www.whdload.de/ ?

You need the Installer for ALL programs with an installer script. It "should" be already placed in c:

And what about the various kickstart files needed by some games,
they could be also included in the WHDLoad package ?

Well not the actual kickstarts of course

The RTB files are on SKick on Aminet, they're not exactly hard to get hold of, ditto the Installer.

They are still copyrighted, so you'll have to provide them yourself. Maybe the PAT and RTB files could be included though

Those files are easy to found on aminet but true, might be easier to include them with WHDLoad. Of course without ROM files

Out of curiosity:
but this copyright on ROM will fade away one day ?
There's some expiration time ?

Very wrong. Cloanto also wants it to be free but there is one issue that begins with A.

Don't know and don't care but I do know they want free ROMs. (really nice "logic" in your posts, btw..)

I'm sure you'll get over it.

Quick question though, if Cloanto want free ROMS why go after websites which share the kickstart roms and try to have them closed?

Sales of Amiga Forever would drop if the ROMS were freed.

Much better logic this time

Answer still is the same: I don't know or care.

it's just an assumtion on my part, to set some ease, but i would think this:

carrying a licence of distribution for a product copyrighted to a third part (in this case the problem beginning with A.) invests the licence holder of the legal responsibility to protect the licence being infringed to detriment of the copyright holder, who, in turn, would take action on Cloanto in case of allegedly damaged interest.

other than that, as Toni, i don't know and i don't care

The problem with bundling the installer with whdload is which version do you include? The latest is 44.10 but that doesn't work on all processors.

You may need to include 44.10 and 43.3 (I think that's the correct number)

On which processors does the 44.10 not work?
I never heard about such an incompatibility.

People have reported getting the following error:

Installer Program Failed (error #80000003)
Wait for disk activity to finish

Suspend Reboot

Toni stated in a previous thread that it "Probably requires 68020+ CPU"
