Question Looking For Help With ProTracker (LHA files)

Hi Guys,

I'm new to Amiga and I plan on using it for producing music using ProTracker. The problem I run into is actually getting ProTracker. I read somewhere that v2.3d is the best version to use but I can only find the LHA file for it. I have an A500 and I don't know how to get the LHA file to the system or what to do with it. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

welcome.
here you have some adf files - packed with zip or 7zip (.z)
just in case you missed the ProTracker Tutorials, take a look here.

#1) lha is an archiver, like rar, zip and so on
handling it without a harddrive is a bit tricky. so try the adf files.

#2) download and use Protracker_v2.3d.adf.7z only
the other protracker 2.3 disk images are infected with a virus.
Protracker_v2.3d.adf does boot and work on a A500 , just tested using winuae emulator.

Thanks a lot, man. I haven't been able to find the ADF anywhere no matter how hard I search. Thanks for linking the tutorials as well I saw a couple of them but I didnt get all the way through them. Now I've just gotta get the program over to my 500

Thanks again

Something else that I totally forgot to mention, I can't seem to find any of the st-xx sample packs anywhere in ADF format. Does anyone know where I might find them?

Cheers

If you can use ADFs to transfer to your Amiga, you could easily create your own ADFs from LHAs using WInUAE on your PC.
LHA files mount as HD directories if you load them on WinUAE on the Hard Drives tab, then it's a matter of copying all stuff to a blank ADF file.

A lot of ST-XX disks' contents can be found on Aminet: http://aminet.net/mods/inst

you can install ADFview on your windows box.
once installed you can open and manipulate the content (read/write) of the adf images - this works with most standard amiga-disk-images.
double click on an adf and you see the content, then you can delete files on the adf or copy files on the adf.
so you can use the samples in lha archives from Aminet ( lha archives you can open with winrar for example)

You have to start from here: ftp://ftp:amiga@grandis.nu

Then you have to follow this path:

ftp://ftp@grandis.nu/Commodore_Amiga/TOSEC/TOSEC [2016-01-03]/Commodore Amiga - Applications - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2015-10-25_CM)
