If you search for the adf-version; you will get this one:

Champ, The (1989)(Linel)[cr Illustra][extended adf]

Bumping this old thread...

The adf file on eab server and everywhere else seems to be around 2 mb?

I need an adf standard size to write to a disc, since my original don't work

Anybody got a normal size one, please?

Thanks

this is the original cracked (there is a long track if i remember well).

Use powercopy, and parameter sync as $8845 (data length on track is 18F0), to create a copy that if you have an A1200 with HD can copy back on disk. Otherwise, check on planetemu, and pick a cracked version which is standard DOS.

I tried to back up my original with TSGui and it seemed to work, but yeah the adf size is over 2MB... I tried to compress it with DMS, and I wrote to the disk but it ain't booting up...
Where do I find 'Powercopy'?
I already checked planetemu, nothing there..

Exelent Retroplay, thanks!

I tried the dms compressed copied disk in a A500 nand it does give me the intro screen with something about the team behind the game, but after pressing fire, noting happens... It's the same as the original, so I don't know if the original is damaged too much?

I'll give PowerCopy a try.

powercopy allows syncmark change and manipulation. Since this game use a non standard sync ($8845), it must be defined by hand.

be familiar with powercopy, look in the rolling menus , mainly the one on the top left, you have parameters and syncwords. In syncwords, use $4489 and $8845, then click on 'CHECK' button, and look what powercopy is doing ; it will read all the track and will check the syncmark. If you see that $8845 is read, it's good ; then use source DF0 and DEV:nameofthedirectory (create it first!) as destination. This will copy The champ as track files on your virtual winuae hard drive, then ZIP or LHA it and transfer on your A1200 (where powercopy is also installed), then use DEV:nameofthedirectory as source and DF0: as destination, put your disk in the drive, and press start It will copy the tracks back to disk
