French Games / Educational Programs

The other half asked me the other day if there were any programs for the Amiga that taught you French. Was wondering if anyone could suggest any as its not something I've ever thought about.

I think there was an Astrix game

Why would it not be appropriate?

Look in the TOSEC collection. You can find everything on the EAB File Server

I saw the TOSEC but i wasn't sure what to make of it.

Just mindful when asking about ADFs, didn't want to upset the moderators.

A few more, as I'm french.

"ADI CE2 Français"
"ADI French: 12/13 Years"
"ADI French: 13/14 Years"
"ADI French: 14/15 Years"

The "CE2" classroom in France is the 3rd grade in elementary school. The first one teach you french in french, were as the three others teach you french in english so you can considered them as "foreign language teaching" applications (a field done by "FLE" teachers here, Français Langue Etrangère).

Note also this one, "Drôle D'école (5 à 7 ans)" - also known as "Fun School 4 (For 5 to 7 Year Olds)" in UK -, a multi-type game that seems to include a few elements to practice the language.

Wasn't there one called "The French Mistress", or was that for 8-bitters?

Any idea where I might find these?

I also heard of one call French Mistress.

Those disks use the PC data to recreate the Amiga disks? Is it the same graphic format as the other games in the series?

Apparently, only the executable and intro files between the PC EGA and amiga OCS versions are different. The data files are the same between the two versions.

Version PC EGA french: (same data files)

Version PC VGA english: (not same data files)

So the intro of the games is from another Amiga version or did you modify it?

INTRO.STK of the PC EGA version is not compatible with the amiga version (INTRO.STK EGA=258Ko / INTRO.STK OCS=556Ko). That's what I meant. but the animation on the screen is the same. I have not modified any file.

The extensions to ADIBOU Junior would be common to Amiga/Atari ST/PC : (French version 1993?)

ADI Junior helps with Counting (4-5) (1994 Coktel/Europress)
ADI Junior helps with Counting (6-7) (1994 Coktel/Europress)
ADI Junior helps with Reading (4-5) (1994 Coktel/Europress)
ADI Junior helps with Reading (6-7) (1994 Coktel/Europress)

Disk is compatible PC/Amiga/Atari ST
https://www.abandonware-france.org/l...067&galerie=10

apparently, it would be only ADIBOU Junior Environment which would be sold in different versions Amiga / Atari ST / PC

In ADI2:
- ADI2 Amiga uses the application disks of ADI1
- ADI2 PC application disks do not work (but are recognized) because they want to be displayed on a 640x480 screen
- To change the class in ADI2, go to "outils", "tableau de bord" and then "cartable" (binder). This will offer you to choose the new class and will reset the score.

This doesn't seem to work for me. "outils" shows me only blanc notes and the calculator.

Also does ADI2 have an application disk for its own, or is it using the older ADI applications?
