Moviesetter (Gold Disk) file format
Is there any good information available on this file format (it's the one Eric Schwartz used for many of his animations)? I wanted to check the possibility of creating a player for these files.

Not really. I'll contact the original Goldisk coders years ago but they didn't keep docs or sources... I only could find a moviesetter chunk description (thanks a canadian amiguy !) that a guy reversed partially.
You're not the first with the idea to create another "modern" Moviesetter player... (TikTok : on wich os ?) |

I know this is a response to an old thread but a program written for UNIX called xanim could playback Moviesetter files. It has full source code in standard c so if you are proficient in c code take a look. The site/files can be found at:

I think I found a DOS/Win player for Moviesetter a while ago, never got around to trying it out...
Was linked from an Eric Schwartz site, from memory. edit: A quick google gives ShowMVS (DOS) and WinMP (Windows) |
