If he's feeling suicidal then perhaps he should come along
On a random note: maybe it would be good to make this thread sticky? |

I usually chicken out and never make it beyond Roskilde, but might as well be optimistic
Flight to Stansted and buss/train should be around €70 something from most of Europe right? |

I'll come!
But only if Fred brings a full-size grand piano and a Liberace songbook. |

Didn't vote on drinking / staying at the venue, as both options are fine by me for both issues.. :-)

North-west sounds good. Of course that's where I'm based, so I'm biased. Lots of choice and easy rail links for Manchester/Southport/Preston/Lake District.
Tons of choice for cheap accomodation - b&b / guesthouse / camping. |

Well if there is travelling involved maybe a few could meet up and drive in 1 vehicle. Split cost of fuel etc and have a bit of a laugh!
Anyone in midlands cancome with me and if there are enough of us we could hire a mini-bus Ian can take me up in his Subaru if there are not a lot of midlands based guys going (Where is ian, he has not posted..) |

FWIW: I'm with woody57... esp as I live in the Northwest
Indoor venu with booze + a few rooms for 'activities' over a weekend? I guess somewhere like Southport would be good. ( Please NOT Blackpool! ) There's plenty of hotels + clubs round here... the kind of places you often get wedding receptions? It would be nice to consider rooms for socialising, demos, even speakers! Hmmm, too much to hope there may be sponsers to pay for it all? Oh, and a room that can be hosed-down just in case our glorious leader turns up and we had a Kill Bill session. |

Southport's a decent place - I could contact some hotels and ask about hiring a room for a Saturday and/or Sunday in July 2008 and what preferential room rates they might offer - basically do they have a 'Convention package' ... we're computer nerds not sci-fi nerds - there's a difference! (ahem)
It's best having the event before the school hols kick in unless we've all got kids now? |

Well why stop at children or even Great grand children ?....
But really who would want "ankle snappers" at this meeting... I know how these things go you look round for the OLD git's to take resposibilty to " mind your little Darlings "........... I don't want to be asked to run a baby sitting or child mindiing service with Grampa Woody,s story time...just because I have the experience....it would not be fair |

An EAB meeting would be a perfect excuse to visit the isles again as the first trip was a bit disappointing but a bunch of amiga fanatics would certainly change that Need to start saving up.

I take it most of you UK guys never leave your town. :-D
I find that rather odd, I'm in a different town almost every weekend. And besides, it's within the same country for most of you. C'mon.. Just pick the site, agree on the date and we'll all get our arses there by whichever means we can. :-D |
