Amiga 1000 (PAL) CIA issues

Hi.

I have an Amiga 1000 PAL (without daughterboard) with at least one Faulty CIA. in the original locations, the floppy will load the kickstart, but then hangs after reset on a white screen, same when i use a pistorm to map the kickstart.

swapping them (with the pistorm in place) will take me to the v1.3 boot up disk image, but the floppy wont work. I can boot Caffiene but it shows bad DF0: and the mouse wont work (apart from right button)

can I just replace the CIA's with one's from an A500? are they compatible? I know they are both 8520's but different revisions.

Thanks

yes the revisions don't matter they are compatible. The A1000 used the earliest 8520s because of the time it was released.

Been there, done that. Used an A500 as CIAs donor. Worked like a charm.
