That's up to you, but I have them setup to the two black buttons in the photo below.

Sorry, I misunderstood, do you mean that you don't like their positions?

this is superb. Like your previous work. Too bad we don't have a decent mortal kombat or street fighter with 6 button support.

Grats for your work! I wish I had such a joystick! They sell them online, but none with the stick right sided.

@JOTD
Actually Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers is not bad and have CD32 joypad support with six buttons (3x punch + 3x kick) system.

There is also Turbo version with same control system, but despite fine graphic game is not too playable.

Edit: Also Fightin' Spirit have similar control method (but AFAIR 2x punch 2x kick system like in Fatal Fury/KOF/SS).

I think the shop is dead at this point. All stuff is out of stock since a long time.

Famously, arcade manufacturers put the 'hand controls' like joysticks/trackballs usually on the left so people would lose their credits faster as most people are right handed. The VCS joystick and almost all other joysticks that followed it were designed for right handed or dual handed use though, doubt you will find a joystick for a home system with buttons on the right/joystick useable only with left hand.

Then the joypad was invented and they put the Dpad on the left and buttons on the right aping the arcade method of action button = right hand fingers and directional control = left hand fingers.

Sega's Powerstick has the same layout as an arcade control panel, as does the one for the Sega Saturn.
