Realtime Clock for CDTV

Hi,

Is there any realtime clock solution for Commodore CDTV with TF536?

Thank you,
Onur B.

Not to my knowledge.

Are you using or are you going to use an RGB2HDMI?

It might be possible to set up a time server on the RPi and connect the serial port to the Amiga. You'd need a application on the Pi and one on the Amiga and be using an RPi that has Wifi.

Other than that you'd be looking at a PlipBox which would connect to the parallel port or a Wifi232 which connects to the serial port.

RGB2HDMI runs bare metal (at least last time I looked), so not that easy to set up network or a time server on.

Found an option (some what)

Hi All,

Amiga Rosource Website mentions CDTV Clock expansion which connects into the 68000 socket.

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/cdtvclock

A brief google search lead me to the following page:

http://www.katodev.de/katodev/deutsch/cdtvclock.php

This page is in German language but google translate did fine. They have released design file as (older) postscript format which I was able to convert to PDF, the card seems to fairly simple what I understand.

But there is more; In Amiga-News.de forums some one has mentioned that they have obtained updated verison of this card from someone J. Plewka.

https://www.amiga-news.de/de/forum/t...2604&BoardID=1

And another search on google lead me to tohe following google groups conversation;

https://groups.google.com/g/de.comp..../c/_k5pqm4_8BQ

which seems to be J. Plewka is Jörn Plewka (Joern Plewka)

Now if only I can find Jörn to ask if it is still possible to obtain updated version of this card or the schematics.

This would be perfect solution for CDTV since it is in internal upgrade.

Of course I have to check that would it be possible to use with TF536.

BTW yes I have RGB2HDMI (solarmon v2) but rpi0 would not be availalbe (as suggested already) for this kind of setup, nevertheless good thinking.

I do not want an external device/solution like serial connection devices just for the sake of RTC.

Thank you for all your inputs.

Actually, Turbotech Clock cartridge would also work - if you ever could find one; connects to the floppy port.

Yeah, checked this one after you mentioned it;

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/clockcartridge

This is also an external solution, which I am actively looking for and internal one.

But thanks anyway.

Cheers.

Several companies made them.

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/a500clockport
https://www.amiga-shop.net/en/Amiga-...ter::1122.html

And it is not an RTC on it's own but an A1200 clockport adapter. If it had physically fitted you *might* have been able to use an A1200 clock port RTC with the original 68000. But you probably can't use one with a TF536 fitted.

I don't think so. First you've got the Physical issue. Then the fact that the clock port doesn't traditionally exist in A500/CDTV memory map and so may not exist in TF536 memory map. (Worth asking Steven Leary aka Terrible Fire)

If you wanted to design your own RTC I am sure you could make one that connects to the CDTV diagnostic port.
