BestWB 1.2
BestWB v1.2
----------- BestWB is a workbench pack that aims to be much like an enhancement, an updated extension to AmigaOS 3.1.4, without all those hardware penalties typically associated with these kind of packs. It is indeed a better 3.1.4 than 3.1.4 itself! BestWB will suit anyone that wishes a clean AmigaOS experience without the unneeded bloat often associated with these kind of distros. It persues speed and usability and does not focus on eye candy. get it from: http://lilliput.amiga-projects.net/BestWB.htm Changes in this v1.2 update --------------------------- New Features: .WBDock is a customizable program that creates a dock bar that holds programs for easier launch. .PicShow is a powerfull and efficient picture viewer. .ImageMount allows you to easily mount ADF, ISO and HDF image files. .BestWB.guide has an introductory guide about BestWB, and is seen as a Welcome! icon in Workbench. .Added two low resource backdrops to optionally beautify your Workbench. .Added 4 FullPalette settings. Updates: .MMULib 46.17 -> 46.18 .SnoopDOS 3.8 -> 3.9 .ToolsMenu 1.8.1 -> 1.9.1 Bugfixes: -Added missing GlowIcon for SuperPlus monitor driver. -Removed Ystart due to unstability. -Removed CleverWIN due to incompatibilities with certain programs. Tweaks: -SnoopDOS now is configured by default to show only fails. -Fullpalette is now allways active no matter what. -Several icons changed for better fitting ones. -Removed DTView2 because now we have PicShow. ignaciogully at gmail.com ---------- NOTES & COMMENTS ------------- * BestWB has no problems with either 3.1.4 and its update (3.1.4.1). * The WBDock commodity has its default config file in the WBStartup drawer so better move it there if you want to run it. BTW, it is a text file you can easily edit. Remember its documentations is in HELP: * You will find two optional plug-in packages available. One that removes DirWork and replaces it with Directory Opus, and another one that installs WHDLoad 18.5. Both can be found in BestWB's website. * Thanks to Thomas Rapp, Roger HÃ¥seth and ppil@EAB for letting me use their material. * Many users asked me for a way to send me money as gratitude and incentive. BestWB is free and will remain free for all, but if you want, I will gladly accept any paypal donation sent to ignaciogully at gmail.com * A couple of picture of the beast: https://ibb.co/ZhXRGsV https://ibb.co/PWFkB5B |

Ok, I'm confused. Where the other versions (1.0 and 1.1) had installer scripts to run to install, the 1.1->1.2 update doesn't seem to have that. How does one go about installing the patches?

Yes, the 1.1 -> 1.2 update has an install script that it is in the BestWBup121.adf/dms

I ran the updater for BestWB 1.2 and now my MagicWB icons have pink on them, this didn't happen when I upgraded to 1.1. I am running an A3000 with a cybervision64 using the latest purchased P96 driver. Any ideas?

One other thing I noticed some of my WB icons were put away and no longer on the workbench. I did mess with Color 4 in the fullpallete preferences and got it close to original.

I ended up deleting Sys:Prefs/FPPS out of my startup-sequence and all is back to normal.
I could never figure out what settings to use for color 4-7 on FullPalette. I saw pics of RGB settings from 0-255 but mine are 0-63 or 0-31 depending on screen color or RGB. |

The OS 3.1.4 prefs should have a setting for MagicWB colours but you can set (and lock) them with FullPalette too.

I would of locked them if I knew what color values to lock them at. Not sure why on this update we are forced to use FullPalette. I like the look of MagicWB its what I had back in the day Gulliver is doing awesome work and I love the BestWB add-on. But he has to remember some of us old guys aren't fans of Glowicons and should give us a choice to turn on FullPalette if needed, this was the first update this was forced on us.
