Pre-Ordered an ACA1233n-55
I just pre-ordered an ACA1233n-55 from the info given this should be one of the fastest '030 based A1200 accelerator available for some time. Anyone else excited to see a new product range from iComp?

I'm waiting for a new 060 turbo that kicks every previous 060 turbo's ass.

Wow, where did you find that? I had no idea that 55s were in plan.
Not that I am looking for upgrade, my ACA1233n 40MHz is plenty powerful for me, and I usually use it underclocked. Only fire up the frequency for 3D games I can only imagine how fast the 55s would be. |

A new 68060 accelerator for the A1200 would be awesome. Don't get me wrong, I like the ACA1233-55n and the A3660 as well, but neither are for me (already have a 68030, don't have an A3000/A4000).

Typical, I've only just got an aca1233n/26
Although the 55s are a bit on the pricy side! |

Jens has mentioned an ACA1260 many times, but no official press release so far. CS-LAB is doing the Warp1260, pictures of prototypes have been shown, but most of the news/info is on the Polish forum.

Maybe he just wanted to say that a hypothetical Blizzard at 66MHz would be faster
So I can do one better. A hypothetical Blizzard at 70MHz would be the fastest 030 card! I sure hope nobody thinks of a number larger than 70... |

A new 060 board along the lines of the Cyberstorm boards (not the PPC ones) with additional fast mem and maybe a couple SATA connectors would be really nice.
But sourcing quality 060's is hard (so many are knockoffs that don't work well), much harder than sourcing 030's. Or something like a cost and feature reduced Vampire that just adds a faster CPU and addition memory. |

Most interesting feature in this updated ACA1233n line is the improved IDE port speed. Bought my card a few month ago, but it seems upgradable for app. 60 Euros (according to Jens in his support forum).

the blizzard 1230 iv can reach 66mhz stable depending of the 030 revision and the memory module inserted, the fastest memory inserted the better chance to be stable at such speed, anyways forget to use the scsi kit at such speed
around 1999 I had a blizzard 1230 iv overclocked at 66mhz so I can confirm it works stable, then I sold that turboboard and I purchased an apollo 1240/40 mhz which I overclocked to 50 mhz using a 100mhz crystal and was stable using a 32mb simm such apollo was fast as the 060/50mhz excepting in fpu which was a bit slower then in 2005 I sold that apollo for 650 u$ and I purchased a tra1200 for 50u$ which is the fantastic turboboard still I'm using Last edited by Mrz; 26 July 2019 at 08:47. |

I wonder how far the TF330 could be pushed? There is a little note on the PCB at the crystal saying 110mhz might work. The existing 100mhz divided by 2 gives you the 50mhz clock so 110mhz would be 55mhz or 125mhz would be 62.5mhz. That would be sweet and I feel a little experiment coming on.... Perhaps with some decent cooling and a full 030 it might get 55mhz. Can't see 62.5 working to be honest but might be worth a try.
As for 060 tech I heard whisperings of a TF360. An 060 accelerator for my CD32, I'm getting all fuzzy thinking about it. |

I have had a ACA1233n-55 for over a year and can vouch for it. It is an extremely stable and capable card. I probably turn my amiga on probably every other day so it gets a lot use by me.
I can get about 12FPS on doom with low detail at fullscreen. As low as that sounds it is playable at that framerate. Games like Frontier run really really well. You can also load any kickstart into it's ram to use. I usually have it load Kickstart 3.1.4 by default. I also have it so if I hold down the amiga key as I turn it on it will load Kickstart 1.3 into it's kickstart ram area. |
