Amiga system monitor thingy

Many moons ago, like the early 90's, there was a superb system level monitor for the Amiga. For the life of my I can't remember what it was called, and despite searchign Aminet with different strings, nothing jogs a memory.

It opened a window and showed EVERY call a program made, really helpful when debugging why a given program didn't work (ie, showed attempts to open libraries, access assigns, etc). Thought it was called DOSTrace, but I'm wrong.

Anyone got any ideas?

Possibly either of these; personally I've only ever used SnoopDOS?

a) SnoopDOS
b) DOSTrace

Most likely because you used an inappropriate program to unpack the archive.

There is a file in the archive which has a single space character as file name. You have to copy the MUI archive to the Amiga and use Lha to unpack it. Otherwise this file is missing.

UnArc can also be used, but only if you have boingbag1 installed. Without the boingbag UnArc cannot handle file names with spaces in their names.

In SnoopDOS did you click on "Functions..." and then tick "OpenDevice", "OpenFont", "OpenLibrary", "OpenResource" to get a fuller diagnosis?

Saying that; if the MUI installer says it fails at line 299 you should probably open the "installer" with a text editor to see what this line is doing. That should help to work out the issue

Exactly, fixed problems many times doing that.
