Awesome, Cammy. 16 colors? I have to improve my Shapeshifter with my ACA30/56. I also saw time ago a guy using Wordperfect on it I believe. |

Nowadays there is no reason to hate this computer. It´s a pretty small piece of old hardware which fits in almost any desktop. Maybe not the best design back in the past (what the fuck were you thinking, Commodore?) but truly atractive today.

Plenty of reasons to hate it when it was released, very little reason to hate it now...
The C64GS was worse, a whole lot of good reasons to hate it when it was released... and still crappy and awkward to this day. Still, that damn thing is rare and now I want one and ill gladly pay €200 for it :-) |

I've never seen an A600 in the flesh so not sure if I'd like it. Since it's so small I bet I would. I hope to find someone selling one someday.

None of it made any sense back then. Zero upgrade from A500 for a 100$ more. A ridiculous thing to release back then, when Commodore was already behind the curve.
In retrospect it's a really neat system. As easy to upgrade as an A1200, cheaper and smaller. You'll just miss out on AGA games. |

If they would have called it the A300 and sold it for $199 or $299 it would have been all good.

As many ppl already know, it was *meant* to be sold at about $100 cheaper.. it just didnt happen. And therefore the original plan failed so the product hit the market in a way that dodnt make much sense..

I personally love all the Amigas as they are part of the history. They are all good machines.
When I saw the first Amiga 1000 in action I knew I had to get one at some point. Got an Amiga 2000. Then switched to PC but always missed the Amiga, the PC was no match. Then got a brand new 1200 as Commodore went bankrupt for a low price. The Amiga 600 is for me a step back unfortunately as some mentioned already. For me the Amiga 1200 / 4000 are the kings of the lineup. It's AGA,the numeric keypad and the compact size that makes the 1200 the winner for me. |

in 2015 a600 is the best amiga behind 1200 & 4000.
no compatibility problem with ks 3.1 hd (cf card whdload ) compatible with ide port and pcmcia transfert with pc accelerator are good vampire aca620 630 ect... the only think is lack of AGA and numeric keypad. A500 wich was way better than A600 back in 90s is now usseless if you have a beautifull A600 whload cf card accelerator ram expension ect... so in 1990 not really good amiga but now in 2015 A600 is the best one behind 1200 and 4000. so it's a very good amiga i think |

You know, I wouldn't mind a A600. Most people may hate it, but at least it's upgradeable, has a PCMCIA slot capable of transferring files between PC and Amiga.

If they got the money, there are better options than the classic 500 indeed. |

It was a great deal for people who didn't already have an A500.. which really wasn't exactly a market I suppose :/ To this day, I'm still in the market for a clean A600 and a vanilla A1200.
