Amiga format Video Tapes
I thought it would be a good idea to try to collect together all of the tutorial Videos released by Burgess, Amiga Format and other Amiga Magazines (if they released any) and convert them from old VHS tape to AVI.
It would be great if there was some space on the EAB Server for this project. To begin I have converted the "Clarissa" Tutorial video to a 700MB AVI File. I also have the AF Multi Media Video arriving in a few days. What do people think? Does anyone have any videos that they could also share here in this way? @TCD - Could these be stored on the server? Can I upload a big file like "Clarissa" with just the normal login? UPDATE Videos are stored on the EAB Server in the "Commodore_Amiga/Misc/Vid section" Details of how to access the EAB server can be found HERE Videos uploaded so far are... Some Videos are now also on my Youtube Channel. 1. [ Show youtube player ] 2. [ Show youtube player ] 3. [ Show youtube player ] 4. [ Show youtube player ] 5. [ Show youtube player ] 6. I'll take a look Mark, thanks for the link.
I thought there might be one or two Videos on Youtube - I thought about uploading what I have to youtube but I really want to get the AF Videos onto the EAB Server as it's a central database for EAB and the videos can be complete. |

I don't see why these can't be stored on the EAB Server. The Clarissa video, for example, is about the same size as a CD-ROM image. But, of course, you will require the Uploader login for that. You should compress them before uploading. |

Hi Prowler - I will zip up the Clarissa Tutorial AVI and try an upload tomorrow - I'll post here with the result.
Think I have the up-loader details here. |

Thanks, Peter.
See the first post here for the uploader details. Create a folder there for your uploads, and if TCD is not around, I'll move them from there into the downloads area. Once you get started, I'll move this thread to the project.EAB File Server forum. |

I don't see why not either Peter, quite an interesting idea too
TCD, is away for about a fortnight, so I guess the question to your answer really lies with Magix I would presume he'll be fine with it, but better ask him first as a precaution |

Good Idea DH, I will drop Magix a line to let him know what I am doing.
In the meantime I have uploaded Clarissa to a folder called "Peter_Videos" in the upload area. Be great if someone could download it, give it a look over and test the video play back for me. I use DivX to watch it on my PC. I will ask Magix/TCD to create an area on the server specifically for the videos as I now have 2 or 3 more to upload next week. |

Thanks prowler.
I have spoken with Magix and he is cool about the videos on the server so I will (time permitting) get a couple more up next week. There is a folder "Commodore_Amiga/Misc/Vids" on the server already and I guess this is as good a place as any to store them so maybe TCD can move any files over from "Peter_Videos" on his return. I'll update as I go along... |

Thanks prowler! - I hoped you might say that...
@Kitty - they weren't on CD as far as I recall - these are old School VHS Cassettes! You would actually have to send away for them, this generally involved replying to an advert or coupon in the magazine. (Cant believe I just used the word "coupon" - I had almost forgotten that word!) |

Still looking for videos for this project if anyone can help...
I'm uploading the AF Desktop Video guide Vol.1 over the next few days and also another totally unknown video that looks like a sort of software promotional video - it's just called "Amiga Collection Volume 2" Last edited by Peter; 15 November 2012 at 22:47. |

I can do the 'Guide to Upgrading your machine'.
Might be next weekend though if that's okay |
