No it doesn't.
REAL files is what is present on an AmigaDOS disk, hence on some WHDLoad installs, if its described as being installed as REAL files, it means the disk format has been understood and turned into REAL files. Blues Brothers uses a custom MFM format that has its own custom file structure which bears ZERO relation to how AmigaDOS stores its file information. |

Go check out my crack for Stryx, or checkout the whdload install for Nightbreed Interactive movie or Spellbound. Now go try finding those filenames in a file table lol |

version 1.2 (23.11.2017) done by StingRay: - patch uses REAL FILES now, game has to be reinstalled (RawDIC 5.0 required) Game real files hidden in the original disk list : ALMOST BASSDRUM BIGBASS1 BLUES.LBM BRASS CHOIX.LBM CONCERT.BIN CONCERT.BLK CONCERT.TBL DEMO1.BIN DEMO2.BIN DEMO3.BIN EGOU.M EGOUT.BIN EGOUT.BLK EGOUT.TBL ELECBAS1 ENNEMI1 ENNEMI2 ENNEMI3 ENNEMI4 ENNEMI5 ENNEMI6 ENT.BLK ENT.M ENT.TBL ENTREPO.BIN EVERY GUITSOL1 GUNN HARDMAJ1 HHG2 HHOPEN1 HHOPEN2 INTER.LBM MAG.BLK MAG.M MAG.TBL MAGASIN.BIN MAIN.PRG MUTGUIT1 OBJET PIANOHI1 PRIS.M PRISON.BIN PRISON.BLK PRISON.TBL SCORE SHOT SNARE1 SNARE2 SOUND SPRITE VILLE.BIN VILLE.BLK VILLE.M VILLE.TBL On Amiga Titus choosed to hide them in order to do trackloading. But on Atari ST and PC you can see them not hidden. Stingray has not invented the filenames, he took them from a file name table. |

You claimed "this game uses real files hidden in the MFM". It doesn't. Those "files" carry ZERO information to describe themselves to AmigaDOS. Take away the filename table and simply reference the list of sector start and size variables and you've got the same disk system without filenames in a table. You might as well say that ANY sector/track loading game has "hidden files in the disk format", your description can describe ALL games in that case, which then negates the meaning by turning something INTO real files. My point is you do NOT need a list of filenames to turn an mfm disk format into files that AmigaDOS can now interact with. The Titus system along with most other custom formats carry on the most basic of information and they don't become actual files until they exist independently where AmigaDOS understands them. |

Of course, I was simply pointing out real names of the files. Some games likes Stryx, Carcharodon, have been filed but have no real filename. The trackloading routine of course needs sector start sector end references to know where each file is on a disk. Everything you say is correct, but it was not what i was talking about. Hence the mismatch of understanding. |

greaseweazel
because my pcmcia slot has stopped working on both my a1200s I havent been able to sort this out. So instead ive bought a greaseweazle f7 lightning plus. Can one of you explain what i need to do to get it onto the dsc. The raw file is 3mb so i cannot just rip it to disc using GW. Ive lost my original CF reader and CF card that I know works. I bought 2 cf cards on ebay, one wasnt recognised and the other had bad blocks so i returned them and the seller ripped me off. So ive resorted to the GW. |

You can write ADF and IPF images back to disk. I think the IPF was linked earlier. |

I've uploaded the IPF I made from Galahad's cracked loader to the Zone! Just write it back to a disk with your Greaseweazle!

Have you tried the command line?
I've just successfully written/read back the IPF to a floppy disk! Wrote and read back with a Sony MPF920, Panasonic JU-257A and a Mitsumi D359M3. Checked the dump in Disk-Utilities and it resolved back to a working IPF! Used these commands: Write: gw seek 0 gw write "The Blues Brothers.ipf" --tracks=c=0-83 gw seek 0 Read: gw seek 0 gw read Blues\Blues_.raw --tracks=c=0-83 gw seek 0 The 'gw seek 0' command sends the head back to track 0 rather than leave it parked on whatever last track the drive read! I also chose to read raw tracks rather than to SCP format, i'm more used to this format having used a Kryoflux for years! I also created a batch file so you can drag/drop an IPF onto it to write back, put these commands into a .bat file: @gw delays --step 9000 gw seek 0 @gw write %* --tracks=c=0-83 gw seek 0 The 'delays' command just makes the head movement smoother when used with the 'seek' command! |

not working
I must have it set up incorrectly cos its not working.
My floppy drive is on the twisted end of the cable and the greaseweazel is at the other end. Windows see's GW as a serial device COM3. The usb B on the GW is connected to the pc via usb A. How do i launch the command line so that it sees the gw files? Where did you store the ipf file on your computer as your instructions dont give it a location. |

Your setup appears fine, but ensure PIN 1 on the cable connectors are going to PIN 1 on the Drive/GW! USB cable is a standard 'printer' type USB, square end/flat end! Do you power the drive from GW or an external PSU like I do?
To open a CMD prompt, click 'start' button and type in 'CMD' and click 'open' to run it then navigate to the folder where the GW files are then issue a 'gw info' command as that will tell if it's connected correctly by showing you the version of GW you have! The IPF can be anywhere you like as long as you tell GW the full path to it, but it's easier to put it in the same folder as GW so you can just pass the filename to GW! If you are using Windows 10 that has a driver already installed, Windows 7/8 need the driver manually installing!! Last edited by BarryB; 10 May 2021 at 19:16. |
