Apollo Team commitment to AROS 68k development
http://www.apollo-core.com/knowledge.php?b=1¬e=23075
Apollo Team commitment to AROS 68k development As we believe that AROS 68k is the only real alternative to the AmigaOS licensing limbo, Apollo Team decided to show a strong commitment to the AROS team by helping them to develop AROS 68k. For each future Vampire Standalone sale done, Apollo Team will put aside 5€ to fund AROS 68k project, being redistributed directly by rewarding AROS 68k developers or bringing them complete Vampire Standalone systems (board, case, PSU, keyboard, mouse, etc.). If you are one of them, get in touch with us for details. |

Agree that if there is to be ANY future in Amiga, the community will have to get behind AROS 68k. The licensing hell that is AmigaOS has stifled development for too long.

Helping developers is usually a good move so I applaud the commitment made by the Apollo Team. Will the support, in cash or hardware, take a 68k scatter-gun approach or are you aiming for particular '080 opportunities?
In the short term, I'd settle for more AMMX accelerated datatypes like the clever JFIF (JPEG) 44.9 http://aminet.net/package/util/dtype/JFIFdt44 that could be used right now with 3.x and on into an AROS-68K future. |
