Floppy port of the SX-32 Pro for CD32
I bought a second hand SX-32 pro and of course the guy before me tried to plug an HD drive and burned the floppy port.
I found the part damaged (at least one)... Is somebody already had the problem? Is there a cheap way to repair the port? Many thanks Tony |

Yikes. I guess the cheapness of the repair would depend upon how handy you are with a soldering iron (or who you know). You can probably find a replacement diode (or whatever that thing is; I'm not an expert) at a local electronics hobby shop, or even a RadioShack.

Are you sure this is a diode?

Probably surface mount resistor. Do you see any markings on it? (for example 100 or 000 or similar)

Ok, they are surface mount resistors. First two numbers are value and third is the number of zeroes (000 = jumper, 102 = 10+00 = 1Kohm etc..)

Resistor! That's the word I was looking for.
You best bet would probably be to get on an IRC Newnet server and ask the fellas in #cd32. One of them might have the same expansion you have and might be able to read all the numbers correctly. |
