Q Drive 1241

Hi

Anyone have any idea what cd device and DOSDriver mount file may look like for the Amiga Technologies 1241 Q Drive. I don't have any documatation or disk with the drive. Comes up as CC0 Unit 3 on the early boot screen but refuses to work with cd.device and unit 3 set from the tooltype. The unit does power at various times when say scanning Storage in Workbench and the CD opens and takes a disk but just not activated in the Workbench and DOpus doesn't recognise the drive from trying to configure a button to use it.

All help appreciated.

I have that reader I do not use for more than 20 years, if I remember you have to mount the mountlist that found on the supplied floppy disks which you find HERE

example mountlist:

Device = cd.device
Unit = 1 or 2 ???
FileSystem = L:QDriveFileSystem
Flags = 0
BlocksPerTrack = 32
BlockSize = 2048
Reserved = 0
LowCyl = 0
HighCyl = 11000
Surfaces = 1
Buffers = 64
BufMemType = 1
Mask = 0x7fffffff
GlobVec = -1
Priority = 10
DosType = 0x51434400
StackSize = 600
Mount = 1

Thanks for that.... Would never have guessed it would have had its own filesystem. Tried everything else.

Hi

I retreived both the install and boot from the Amiga resources site and installed the software. I am OS3.0 so its quite a harmless if it mucks up the OS The device is a cd.device and L holds the QDriveFileSystem. Unit is 2. The old file system was CDFileSystem.

At first the drive wouldn't work and then I found a rogue CC0 in the devs drawer that was causing the problem. Once removed the drive booted no problem.

Seems to be working. I have been checking through some old Aminet disks and the drive is finding everything. Very quiet little unit. Been sitting around cus I couldn't establish what power supply is needed. Someone just created a website and featured the drive [ all in German ] but gave the power supply details. The Big Book only has the Squirrel connector it doesn't show the drive.

Thanks for the help.
