Sweetest Perfection Pack 4

Hi there hope somebody can help with this.

I found a version here: http://demozoo.org/productions/4744/

but DMS has checksum errors.
So maybe somebody has a fully working version of this. Would be very grateful.

Hi Thalion,

I've managed to extract a valid ADF from that file, so I'll just upload it to The Zone for you.

Wow thats. Nice May i ask how you achieved that? Just curious as it may prove usefull to know for possible future problems with other archives.
BTW that could be a nice addition to TOSEC as the TOSEC version also has corrupt files.

Unfortunately Prowler has uploaded same ADF as in TOSEC[5EE8A946].

This file seems to be unique, i was not able to find the file on any other disk, so cant be repaired at the moment.

I extracted the ADF using xdms 1.3.3 under Windows XP with no checksum errors.

Unfortunately, as mai states, there is a checksum error on the ADF in Disk Block 375, belonging to the wingstr.exe file. However, it's the only checksum error on the disk.

I have fixed that checksum and reuploaded it to The Zone, but I don't expect that to have fixed the problem, because the change was not trivial.

Edit:

Thanks mai. I can see what's causing the wrong data block key and sequence flag for that disk block. I must investigate this issue further...

Unfortunately, there are many zeroed-out disk blocks on this image - victims of BamCopying, no doubt. That'll mean a fix is impossible, I expect.

Hi Thalion,

Can you tell me, which tool, or version of (UN)DMS you were using which reported those checksum errors, please? I would like to carry out some expreriments on that archive with it.

This is the file information given by the xdms 1.3.3 (Win32) tool:

Thanks, that's all very useful. I'll have another go at it tomorrow.

Data blocks 408-418 and 421-429 of 430 belonging to the winstr.exe file (Disk Blocks 376-395) have been overwritten by old data blocks belonging to the yoltr100.exe file, damaging winstr.exe beyond repair.

The File Header Block 917 and List Extension Blocks 920-924 are valid, but those data blocks have been lost.

The disk image is also rather untidy.

For example, the yoltr100.exe file on the disk is valid. The File Header Block 925 and List Extension Blocks 928-933 are also valid, but List Extension Block 934 contains data block entries beyond the EOF in Disk Block 1558, and List Extension Block 935 is not required, but a pointer entry to it remains in Disk Block 934.

Yeah thought so that the disk is damaged beyond repair. Would be nice to find another source but this pack seems to be very rare. :/
But thanks for all your efforts. I will search the web a bit more maybe i'm lucky.
