Stick out tongue Playing amiga 1200 games on my cd32 with a controller

Set up my amiga cd32 console today with the floppy disc drive attached. Put in pinkie, aquatic games and zool 2 into the floppy drive and started playing them with my boomerang controller. I thought you needed a keyboard and mouse but obviously not. Is this a mystery or is this normal? Thanks

Unhappy Problems

Problems. When I put zool and globdule in I have to put the manual code in. The buttons don't work which Is annoying. Also noticed that some of the buttons don't respond to certain actions of the character. I put James pond 2 (amiga 500) version into the drive and it loaded but the graphics were all glitchy with blue and red transparent blocks in the foreground and sky which shouldn't be there. Anyone know why this? Think I will need to get a Lyra keyboard and mouse adaptor so I can use a amigaone keyboard and mouse.

Whilst I appreciate the advantages of playing games from the original 3.5 disks (especially ones that require saving) but have you tried the cd compilations which I think may contain Zool and James Pond 2

http://eab.abime.net/support-games/1...2-200-iso.html

I tend to use the disk drive only for games which were n't on these cd roms or to extract pd disks from the 17 Bit Software pd cd library disks.

Note: You will need a keyboard for some games such as Stunt Car Racer where you have to enter your name before starting the game

Floppy drive

Thanks for your help. Do all amiga 1200 floppies work on this disc drive for the cd32 or do some of the discs have natural bugs on them because they weren't made in mind with running on an amiga cd32.

Should amiga 500 games work on this cd32 disc drive? If you need a relokick disc to boot it in classic mode is that why the original version of James pond 2 was glitching when I loaded it up. Haven't got a relokick disc by the way. Thanks again.

yes all 1200 floppy games will work on the cd32
compatibility with A500 games will be as in the A1200..about 85-90%
in some of the A500 games you must use relokick to make them work, some of them will not work even using relokick,in those cases you must look for a fixed whdload version

Glitchy

Ok thanks. Do you know why James pond 2 (500 version) had glitchy graphics when it loaded up? Also James pond 1 didn't load at all.

Another question. When I had an amiga 1200 and wanted to play 500 games, I would have to use a relokick disc to play those games. Why isn't this the case with the external drive on the cd32? By this I mean you don't need to use a relokick disc and you can put the games straight into the drive and they will run. Thanks.

james pond 2 exists AGA version which has more colors and backgrounds (play this instead)
james pond 1 exist the AGA fixed version by divine

most A500 games works without relokick both on the A1200 or cd32, games from 1992 and newest will work..will not require any patch or relokick
older games may require relokick or not depends of the case
