Eye of the Beholder AGA change language to German

hello!

i have a question, hopefully you can help me. i successfully managed to start eob 1 and 2 via fs-uae.

i did it exactly like explained here:

http://eab.abime.net/877599-post10.html

the only thing i can't switch is the language.
on the download website of the game it says:

here version 1.09 AGA multi-languages with AUTOMAP (fully playable):
(German/English/Italian/French/polish)

when i start the game it is always in english. is there a way to play the game in german via fs-uae?

thank you and regards.

read....'readme' file

if you have installed lowlevel.library, workbench language is automatically switched (normaly..)

if not you can force language selection using file in languages/ folded named EOB1.language for EOB1 or EOB2.language for EOB2

This file must just contain 2 letterS:
DE
FR
PO
....

DE=> for Deutch/German

see joined files...

hello.

thanks for your fast reply. to be honest i am beginner in these lha-things.

i don't know what you mean with " lowlevel.library".
i do not use the workbench.

i just unpacked that eob-lha-file, zipped the folder again and can start it directly via fs-uae.

my fs-uae has a german ui.

so i was wondering if there is a way in that emulation program to change the games language or can i switch some kind of an ini-file or so inside of the eob-archive to start it in german?

regarding in your files:

in the eob-folder data-vga/languages the are to files:

EOB1.language1
EOB1.language2

in these files there are just the two letters PO (i think for polish) which confuses me because the game starts in english. even if i change it to DE the game still starts in english.

file must be renamed in EOB1.language

EOB1.language1 & EOB1.language2 are examples

and EOB1.language are not present for lowlevel.library support by default....

sorry to ask you again, but i don't understand. in the folder data-vga/languages there already files called

eob1.de
eob1.fr
eo1.gb
eob1.it

do i have to move these files? sorry i know it's pretty simple for you but i don't understand what to do.

so once again my question. i have that eob-lha file and fs-uae. is it possible in a simple way to play the game in german and may i ask you to explain i an easy way what do i have to do step by step to change the language.

thank you for your help.

No, you don't have to move anything, you just have to substitute the two letters pointing to the language inside the eob1.language file with "de".
And the file is "eob1.language" not the ones ending with .language and a number.

[edited: typo.]

in the folder data-vga/languages there are 2 files named

eob1.language1
eob1.language2

(we are talking about eob1)

these files are 2 bytes big, inside of them there are two letters - DE

but the game starts in english. there is no file "eob2l.anguage" ??

Those files are examples. just rename one of them as eob1.language.
Sorry for the typo in my previous post, I meant eob1.language, not "2".
