NEC Multisync II & A500?

I was recently given an old NEC Multisync II, which I gather should be an Amiga-compatible monitor. I'd like to connect it to a stock A500, but when I take the 9-pin female connector that plugs into the back of an Amiga 1080 monitor and connect it to the 9-pin male connector on the cable attached to the NEC, it doesn't work.

So, I suspect I'm missing an adapter of some sort that needs to go between? Or have I misunderstood and this monitor won't work with an A500?

Send a message via MSN to cosmicfrog
It should work

sounds like you need a different cable or rewire the cable you have

You may want to go to the website and look at the manual for the monitor. Even when the amiga was big a lot ofmonitors were advertised asmultisync, but would only go down to 31 kHz

This 9pin connector is (9pin VGA) type, is not same to 9pin of 1084S.
Try this from my 14" color monitor ΕΙΖΟ Flexscan 8060S TTL/Analog - MultipleScan (15.75Khz ~ 35Khz)
99% is the same pinout..
Good luck

Thanks for the info... Do you have a similar diagram that shows how the Amiga to 9-pin 1080 cable is wired?

I made a cable using that guide and it works great with my A1200 and 1084S-D1.
