What is this inside my CDTV (+ Hardware Pr0n)

I just open up my "new" CDTV.

I found this interesting part called SmartStick.. What is it.

Joystick port adapter. CDTV does not have standard 9-pin joystick/mouse ports.

That means the two ports on the back (above the words expansion) is for mouse and joystick. It have a switch above the ports. That means I can only use one at a time ?

The switch might just disable them so they dont interfere with the IR pad.

I could try, but the adapter didn't move easy when I first tried, but could take a closer look

The switch is running to jumper 15 (I think its 15) which turns the CDTV's custom rom on and off, flip the switch when its turned off and restart and you should get the A500 start screen and the CD-Rom wont work, turn it off and switch it the other way and the CDTV screen will come up and the CDTV CD-Rom drive will work.
