Strange sound problems (distortion once again) - Amiga 4000

Hey!

I read the related threads here on EAB (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...iga+4000+audio) and the Amiga Technical Resource page.

I use a refurbished mainboard (made by DCE Computer in 2002)
All capacitors and tracks are okay.

I often get sound distortions when playing WHDload- and floppy disk games.

But OctaMed is just fine and all channels are crystal clear.
Then I tried the audio test utility: no problems at all.

I also removed the Maestro soundcard and the VLAB motion card.
No difference.

Ah yes, I changed the PSU fan some weeks ago.

I hope you can give me some advice.

Thank you so much.

sometimes audio distortion is a problem of radio-interference.... not a related motherboard issue

try a diferent audio cable..... a good blinded one and the shortest possible...and check if the problem persists

Thanks for the input, laser.
But the audio cable is okay. I checked it with my A1200.

I used contact spray, connected a new power plug and it works.

...until now...

Maybe a filter related issue. Try turning on the filter in OctaMED and see if the problem happens.

laser: a blinded cable??

Hi Braddo,

nice idea! But it works flawless.

I´m trying various games and apps at the moment.
Audio works fine by now...*fingers crossed*

Laser meant a shielded cable, I suppose.
