A570 - No caddie

Can these things be used without the caddie? Has anybody tried?
I don't have any disks for it so I'm not sure if this is junk or not. Slim chance of finding a SCSI-TV controller I guess and the only 2meg expansion seems to be a custom job. Anybody have these parts in New Zealand?

I had this problem once, the A570 caddy is slightly fatter than most other caddys I tried at the time in a attempt to use the thing (Blaukpunt, Phillips etc) I gave up and eventually got a proper caddy though.

You may get lucky, look for old hifis and car stereos.

Really? All caddies I've tried in mine have worked fine...

The RAM expansions, although custom jobs are available for purchase (look on the website of the person who makes them, I ordered one and it's working great)

I don't think I have ever seen a caddy before in my life except for maybe on Happy Gilmore. Do you have a picture of one, maybe I can make one out of bread. Have to get me one of those RAM mods

http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/sear...&fsop=1&fsoo=1

Found 2 on eBay, with the search "CDTV caddy".
Amiga caddy or CD caddy produced crap results.

That looks the same to me
I guess they are a standard and I just happend to get the 2 unknown ones back in the day :P

Yeah, that would be fine. I've got several grey/black ones and they are all the same...

I'd still say there's no point in paying an "Amiga premium" for CD Caddies. :-)

Softhut dont sell them for any extra than you would pay anywhere else for new caddies.

I have 8 caddies, but nothing to use them with (I used to have a drive in my PC that used them). If you want them, I'll let you have them for the cost of postage.

That would be awesome! I would like it if you sent me 2 of them, there is no need for any more than that. But how would I pay you? Paypal?

PayPal is easiest. If you PM me your address, I can figure out how much postage will be.
