Wanted: PCMCIA NIC

I want to get my A1200 online! I need to get hold of a PCMCIA network card (with TP connection interface) that has valid drivers available for an A1200. I've heard of the 3c589, but could the 3c590 also work?

Thanks in advance!

Ebay. The 590 is a PCI card, so you can't connect it to the PCMCIA slot. :-)

There's a huge surplus of 3c589 cards in the world, you'll always find them on sale in online auctions..

It's a solid card, perhaps the most popular ever in corporate laptops back in the late 90s before they started integrating the NICs.

Sorry that it isn't much of a help, but i've seen AmiNet once a list of compatible PCMCIA network cards, and drivers and some stuff...

Anyone might have a link and/or more info?

The best choices are a Fiberline 4680 PCMCIA or an 3Com Fast Etherlink III PCMCIA, both are supported with drivers (cnet.device and 3c589.device) .... Inside the cnet.device archiv on Aminet, theres also a list with compatible cards ....

You can also try to get hold of a NoName PCMCIA NIC, but be sure that it is 16Bit only, NE2000 compatible and 10MBit .... but better choice would be to check the list inside the archiv anyway

I've got a 3Com Fast Etherlink III and it does the job. It was only a couple of quid from ebay.
