Amiga / Jay Miner Research Essay

Hey folks, some of you may be aware that Im at Uni now and one of my recent assignments is to write a 1500-2500 word essay on someone who could be said to have contributed to the invention of the modern digital computer or the development of modern computing.

And of course I immediately thought "Jack Tramiel!"

Hehe no seriously, I immediately thought of the father of the mighty Amiga - the pioneering multimedia computer: Jay Miner.

All I want to know from you guys out there, do you know any good places to look up information about him as well as the legacy and impact of the Amiga itself.

Naturally I know some places to go like the Amiga History Guide but is there anywhere else worth taking a peep?

And do I recall some Italian dude writing a similiar thing for his studies a year ago?

I know the Amiga Forever CD has video and audio clips of interviews with him.

Yes. The Italian dude in question is Incomparabile. I helped with the translation of some of the text into English.

Here's the Amiga section of his site: http://web.cheapnet.it/giovacappo/amiga/

thanks Corny

There was a guy who did a nice web page American maybe? who did a good eulogy about the Amiga - had some great quotes of the PCs reaction to the Amiga at the time.

Someone posted about it here, as i remember reacting to it.
