Installing Amiga OS 3.9 under Winuae
Hi there,
So that's the situation : Booting WinUAE with the Install Disk 3.1 Got 3 Formatted Partitions : - Workbench ( 2 Gbyte ) - Programs ( 4 Gbyte ) - Games ( 4 GByte ) In the Installation options, i choose " Install OS 3.9 over WB 3.0 or on an empty HD. After 60 % of the installation, it gets an error message : MAKEASSIGN... Cannot ASSIGN line **** file cannot be found or opened... I retried it on another way : First i installed Workbench 3.1. Then i started the installation of AmigaOS 3.9 Same option " instal over WB 3.0 or on an empty HD " Now the installation goes completely trough all 100 % It reboots... The OS 3.9 Files are there, but it still boots as WB 3.1... ?? It seems that the Startup-sequence wasn't exchanged by the one of OS 3.9 Can anybody help me ??

OS3.9 must be installed from OS3.9, otherwise the installation will fail. So the first thing to do is to create an emergency floppy and boot from it.
Here are instructions on how to create an emergency disk without the need of anything but the OS3.9 CD: http://home.t-online.de/home/thomas-rapp/os39uae.html There is also a german version if you prefer: http://home.t-online.de/home/thomas-...ulator.html#21 Well, as you now already have OS3.9 installed, just install it again on top of it to get the icons display correctly. |

I have installed os 3.9 over wb 3.1 in winuae without problem.
I had done it in hardfile |
