Complete Updated WHDLoad Set - How?

Hello fellow Amigans!

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but is there a way to acquire a complete WHDLoad set of all the OCS/ECS/AGA games and demos, and CD32 conversions for WHDLoad and then keep that up to date.

I have a good set on both my real Amiga 1200, WinUAE as well as my Amibian Raspberry Pi, but I have a feeling that it is far from complete and up to date.

Can someone please point me in the right direction as far as how to do this?

Grab the entire lot from ftp or my cloud drive.
Then use the dats in rom manager of your choice (clrmame, romvault etc) to keep them up to date.

Okay! Thank you for the quick answer. I have no idea how ROM managers work. Where is the cloud drive of yours? I tried downloading from EAB FTP which is a wonderful resource, but SO slow. :-)

That's because you were probably using the generic account...

Now that you have over 50 post on EAB, you can create a proper account.

I'm taking a closer look at it now. But just generally speaking I think these ROM managers are hard to wrap my head around. I'll see if I can figure it out.
Will save the video and see if I can follow along there.

Also what would be the easiest/best way to deploy an up to date WHDLoad set? I've been unpacking them using 7z and then copying them over from the PC side using DirectoryOpus (in the case of WinUAE) or off a USB stick onto the Raspberry Pi Amibian setup (using Midnight Commander)... for the deal Amiga I'll use the PCMCIA CF Adapter... will probably take several runs to have everything transferred over....

Thanks for the suggestion mate! Much appreciated!

Did create an account on the FTP (Thank you for the suggestion!!) and downloading the Retroplay directory on the FTP as I'm typing this
at 100x the speed offered by the generic account

Retroplay I think I managed to get ClrMamePro to do its job, now it seems the collection is complete aside from 5 games missing in the WHDLoad games category...

Now for the million dollar question: Where do I look for these missing games to complete the collection/WHDLoad set I have? :-)
Is there some place where newly made WHDLoad games/demos etc get posted?

These are APC&TCP titles, not allowed on EAB FTP.

Anyway, see Clrmame isn't that hard to use, people make it sound more complicated than it really is.
Also check your PM.

Yup totally agree

...I really don't know what I'd do without ClrMamePro; there's no way on Earth I'd be able to keep my thousands upon thousands of files for different systems up-to-date

Imagine trying to do all this manually?

You guys are right. ClrMamePro MAY not be so complicated, and it definitely helps with keeping up to date with ROM collections.

... now hmmm is there a way to .... update all the slaves for the games and demos with the most recent ones? Still waiting for a fix for the A1200 Demo by Complex .... works fine on emulator but flakes out completely on my actual Amiga 1200 (with ACA1233n)

Put all WHDload files in a folder and use windows search box, search for _DE etc, select all and remove, easy!

Ok i thought maybe the ROM mangers could do that.

I have now tried with both Romvault and CLRmamePro but its like none of the recognise any of the LHA files from the retroplay set. I have set the directory to a folder where all 3400+ files are but not even 1 is recognised as a valid file

what am I doing wrong?

Did you download the dats and place them in their respective folders ?

I.e for RomVault they go in DATRoot folder.
Here's my folder structure:

After that, press "Update DATs" button
Rightclick on each new entry and set dir path:

Put all the files you want to scan and rebuild into RomVaults "ToSort" dir and do a "Scan Roms".
Then "Find Fixes" and "Fix Roms", that's it.
Found fixes will be highlighted like this:

After fixing it should be all green.

it was the rightclick and set ROM dir path I missed, I followed ROMvaults guide but that was from 2011 so in that guide there was a specific folder for the roms :-)

One nice thing with this pandemic shutdown is an increase in new and fixed WHDLoad slaves. Thanks!

Still a lot of games without slaves out there, including;
Footman
Kang Fu
