Does WinUAE feature speed controls?

Hi

I've been using a lot of STeem lately, and that happens to feature some nice speed controls, and even lets you map them to your mouse (if it has more than 2 buttons). The beauty of it is that you can speed through everything - long intros/instruction screens - and of course loading.

Does WinUAE have similar functions? I know you can increase the floppy drive speed, but can you increase the speed of everything, and map this to a mouse button?

If not, any consideration of including it in a future release?

Winuae has a warp mode when you use JIT. You can assign a warp mode key from the input tab, probably there already is one but I always assign middle mouse button to it.

A-ha, just what I am looking for.

Of course, I now need to know how to activate JIT (what is it?), as it is greyed-out in my normal config. Is it chipset dependent?

Warp-mode works always, it has nothing to do with JIT..
Default mapping is END+PAUSE

Great, thanks.

Edit - how can I map this to another key or mouse button?

Hmm I though it didn't work without JIT because it's not any noticeably faster without it but I use JIT with my workbench config and noJIT with old games so maybe something I ticked to ensure A500 compatibility held the speed back.

Hmm, I had a look in there, but I can't see an option for multiple key press combinations. How did you map it to your mouse button?

Ok, not keyboard but go to mouse obviously. I answered thinking that you wanted to assign a KEY. Under mouse choose button 2 and set it to Warp Mode.

Another small comment to this: Gabe, the problem lies in the necessity of the "Amiga" needing ALMOST all keys.
So you cannot randomly assign it to any key you wish, as the Amiga will need it and you would otherwise block it.
That's just why the key combinations appear a bit clumsy at times (END+ ... ).

However, I too had made the proposal long ago to change this in a bit more convenient way: i. e. to use ScrollLock to entirely switch the keyboard (like in MAME or MESS) and reassign the current function of ScrollLock (disable graphical updates) to some other key.
