Amiga Format issue 13 request
Hi Guys
I was wondering if you could help me please? Do any of you have a scan from the following mag http://amr.abime.net/issue_169_pages Amiga Format Issue 13 August 1990 Early on might be Pages 2 and 3 there is an double page advert for a Computer Shop in Alfrington or Ashbourne, Derbyshire. I ask as it was the advert I brought my A500 from...... This was a comon advert in this and other mags so if you have a similar advert that would be good too. |

I have issue 13, but no scanner or decent computer to scan with.
I can photograph the pages if you would like, and post the advert here? |

The only advert that I can see from Derbyshire is on Page 23 from:-
Merlin Express Limited Department AMF/TS, Unit D9 The Rope Walk Ind Centre Off Station Road, Ilkenston Derbyshire DE7 5HX But it's a single page advert And pages 2 and 3 contain an ocean software advert. Page 1 is always classed as the front cover, so you either have the wrong mag, or your page numbers are wrong. Besides, this is the advert:- Last edited by DH; 25 April 2013 at 16:14. |

Oh! And as a point of interest, you can download almost all AF magazines ads included as .pdf's from CIA here http://awesome.commodore.me/downloads1/magazine-2/
Not all are up yet, so Issue 13 is not there yet, but we have nearly all magazines, so you may want to have a look either side of Issue 13 to see if you can't find the correct advertisement Shameless plug I know Last edited by DH; 08 April 2014 at 02:41. |

I do remember that advert! With the funny New Zealand story art work!!!
Thanks DH I don't think I have the right mag then, I could have sworn it was. Hey how cool would it be to see this merchandising in mint condition now, real collectors items I’d bet It must have been an Amiga Action then has any one got a copy of this AA from Issue 11 August 1990, I remember the advert had a grey-ish back ground and was very early on in the mag? http://amr.abime.net/issue_84_pages Last edited by Rob 1; 25 April 2013 at 16:59. |

We don't currently have any amiga action magazines on our site, but that doesn't mean we are not in the process, or have any in our mits I'll speak to someone who has a little more knowledge of what we may have and get back to you asap.
EDIT: Although at a guess, whenever there is an advert in one magazine, it'll surely be in others at the same time, so it might be worth looking at other UK magazines during that period too |

Gordon Harwoods Computers Department AMF/C3 New Street Alfreton, Derbyshire DE5 7BP Picture coming soon :- both are from AF Issue 12 Jul 1990 Last edited by DH; 25 April 2013 at 17:14. |

Well done DH, that's it!!
Which mag did you get it from in the end? They say money can't buy happiness but £399 that day made me the happiest guy for a very very very long time Wow it's still a lot of money isn't it..... worth every single little penny though If you look at the advert you see I got a free mystery game with it, that was Mike Reads Computer Pop Quiz which I recently scanned for HOL. You can imagine the anticlimax when they gave me a Amiga with all those games and then gave me Mike Reads Computer Pop Quiz. Thanks again DH, I've saved this image and won't loose it again!! You're very welcome mate
The mag was Amiga Format Issue 12 July 1990, which I mentioned under the two images Also because of my search in AF Issue 13, I found out when I ordered my 512k memory expansion, with battery backed up clock, and the PC880 External Drive at a total cost of £104.95, all from Power Computing. Now hows that for dating stuff Don't worry, if you ever lose it again, I know for sure you'll always be able to find it again from this thread |

So you did in the excitement I missed that.
I've a question for you would you choose the bat pack or flight of fancy? I must have spent ages pondering that question. |

No idea now tbh. When I bought the A500 there were no real bundles available like there is in that Issue.
IIRC all the extra stuff I got was Photon Paint and Populous with pretty much nothing else This I believe was purchased in 1989/1990 sometime and was in one of the standard white C= Amiga boxes. I also remember I purchased it from Silica Systems although I may be thinking of the A1200 there. Last edited by DH; 25 April 2013 at 22:10. |

When I purchased the A1200, I bought the Desktop Dynamite Pack, I was in my element, despite being a young adult, in fact, I was a young adult when I purchased the A500 too
