Cannon Fodder vs Cannon Fodder 2

Another war of the sequels brought to you by Nytrox Entertainment Empires Definative List Engaging Software Sequels, better known as N.E.E.D.L.E.S.S. . Anyway this time its Cannon Fodder 1 & 2 battling for supremacy. Although I probably favour the realistic scenarios of Cannon Fodder, I think the machine gun sound effects of Cannon Fodder 2 are awesome. Still this might just be because I have CF on CD and CF2 on disk and the sounds are slightly different, or because the machine gun in CF2 was purposely changed.
Either way my vote goes to Cannon Fodder. If you vote try and leave some sort of reason why.

Cannon Fodder 2 never grabbed my attention as much as the original - I couldn't get used to the Space bits with pink bloody floors!

I'd have bought CF2 even if was just CF with different maps!

I prefer CF1. It was the first, the one to grip my heart and I don't really like the wasteland look of CF2.

And then of course there's the music and intro.

I love both games equally. I mean, they are the same games, just different gfx and different levels. Level desing on both is great, so I just can't choose one. But the intro on the 1st one was much better

I prefer the first version. It just has a much better difficulty curve. Things start off super simple, but new challenging elements are introduced very gradually, making each level marginally more difficult than the last. CF2 for me is too one-paced, with easy and hard levels alternating with no real pattern.

And the alien levels just don't fit right.

i was never a big fan of the two but the song of the song of the first was great and since i was really a "born to die fast" kind of soldier i just hung around from time to time in the jungle at the start, looking for a way to play tom berenger

Wow. Not a single vote for Cannon Fodder 2. So is there anyone who likes CF1 but doesn't like CF2? It seems like Daz, Drake1009 and blackcornflake aren't too keen but personally I have no problem playing CF2 I just think the original has to be better.

CF2 is more of CF1 goodness, but with different setting and in my opinion not music that has you coming back for more music. I've managed to boot Cannon fodder for the music solely.

The orignal versions missions are heaps betther thought/set out.I still play this game - its the reason I got an Amiga emulator.

CF2 felt like a total rush job, or a compilation of maps that didnt make the cut for the original.

Although those Irish famers yelling "Get Orf My Land!" and the booby sheep were amusing

Cannon Fodder The First; for the same reasons as everyone else really. Giant smiley faced bad people upon bright pink worlds just spoiled the atmosphere for me...

i used to alternate between the 2.
obviously they are both the same game, but cos they are also very different 'feel' wise, i was able to play 1 then the other, then go back to the first etc without getting bored

Lets be sensible

I play Cannon Fodder 1 just to watch the opening credits... ' what is it good for '

Don't you just love it when they jump up and down telling you that the mission is complete.. I love you guys...

CF2 was just as good.... though never played as much as one.

I have cover disk where Sensible Soccer meets Cannon Fodder.

Sensi Golf however was utter crap !

Sensible Soccer is still my favourite game, still playing it after 10 years.

well to me Cannon Fodder 1 is great, and cannon fodder 2 is for those who master
CF1 in every ways.

If you don't master CF1 don't even think mastering CF2.

I have done BTW a full walkthrough for Cannon fodder 2 ^^ all 72 maps solves
for your pleasure ^^.

CF1 has my vote. By the time I got to CF2 (blood, sweat, tears, profanity and two mice later), I found it was more of the same which didn't entertain me anymore.

Strange people have bad moments with CF2..... The difficulty is WAY WAY stronger.

They raised the difficulty silly so that you prove your might
