Fuck Photoshop with its 1 billion options, fuck all the shitty software bundled with printers, scanners..etc on Windows.

Does anyone have Photogenics and Dpaint IV hanging about??? for the Amiga!

For quick and easy image processing like cropping, resizing, and image enhancement effects, I use Image Studio on the Amiga. It loads up quick, reads and saves heaps of formats as well as using Datatypes for the ones it doesn't know, and you can open it on an 8 colour screen which it dithers the images to quickly for the preview, making working in the program much faster than running in 256 colours or HAM8.

Image Studio is available on Aminet, but it requires a keyfile which was given away on a CU Amiga magazine. I guess it should be uploaded to the Amiga Key Ring site. In any case, I'll drop it in The Zone for anyone to use.

Was Image Studio a commercial software, and sold in a retail box?
Or was it shareware?

Photogenics is available on the EAB File Server in The Zone!/P subdirectory, filename: Photogenics.rar (5.2MB).

There are various archives containing DPaint V on the server in The Zone!/D subdirectory (look for Deluxe Paint), but no copy of DPaint IV.

Personally, I wish there was an Amiga program that could work with 16-bit channel data (48/64-bit images) so that people could edit photos on their Amiga without loosing quality from their RAW files, but that's probably too "heavy" a task for even an 060...

Not in the 'The Zone!' subfolder, but in '/TOSEC/Applications/[ADF]'

What about the later versions of ImageFX? Still a great image editing program, though Photogenics was the closest to a Photoshop experience you can get on the Amiga IMHO.

ImageFX is *excellent*, not just great; way more flexible than photoshop (despite what the so-called graphics experts may say).

Actually yes I do believe you are right, ImageFX is a brilliant piece of software, when I can find a job and cash again I hope that I can afford a modern Amiga for using modern software like ImageFX latest.

ImageFX is a great program but suffers from a too-complex UI. The power is certainly there, but it makes the likes of Photoshop or the GIMP look user-friendly!
