Write Protected / Enable Disable in Config?

Hi,

I cannot work out where in a saved UAE config file for WINUAE is the information stored for Write Protected DF0: in the Floppy TAB.

If I save a config for a game with the Write Protected enabled, I do not see it in the UAE config anywhere. Is it stored elsewhere, or is there a command to enable or disable somehow in a UAE config.

I have seen this command in a uae config for Amiberry (Raspberry Pie) before.

floppy0type=0
floppy0type=-1
floppy0type=1

Not sure what they mean or if they have anything to do with this topic?

There is no write protect switch on a floppy drive, not on a real drive and not on the emulated one. Therefore you won't see a config item for drive write protection.

The protection is on the floppy disk resp. the ADF file. Check the file properties of the ADF file. It will miss the W bit if it's write protected.

Where exactly am I supposed to look for "W" ?

What is the purpose of the write-protected Tick in the Floppy drives TAB in WINUAE if it is not supported?

It's simple. If adf file is Read-only then it is write protected. If you check or uncheck Write-protected in WinUAE then Read-only in file will be enabled or disabled.

Also if you use ADZ, DMS and some other supported formats it is write protected by default and you can't write in it...
