oh, old version you are using - just download latest Winuae beta 17

#1) link changed, was beta 16, now latest beta 17

#2) if you get a blue background screen, when playing a video in genlock mode,
this indicates something is wrong with the video or missing windows video codec.
K-Lite Codec pack is a good choice to solve the codec problem.

Yeah, I don't keep up with the betas, I usually just go with the latest non-beta version, so I'm still using 3.3.0

But that sounds like a fun reason to try out the latest beta, thanks, I'm getting it now!

If I got any debug or error message, I'd be happy to share them with him, but alas, it simply crashed while I was selecting a video file, in both b16 and b17, I tried them both. Oh well.

Most likely it is due to buggy codec. (some codec pack etc..). It is quite common.

so just install the K-Lite codec pack Mega - it's an all-in-one solution, and never gave me any trouble. if it does not work, simply uninstall.

Will do tomorrow and see if that helps, as far as I'm aware I have not installed any 3rd party codecs - as I usually use VLC for local video playback on this machine.

If it happens immediately after clicking "..."-button and 64-bit Windows: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=80216 (workaround is to paste the file path and not use "..." if you don't want to hunt for the buggy extension..)

Ahh, thank you. I hadn't considered trying the 32-bit version, I was perhaps stupidly using the 64-bit version. 32-bit version works just fine, thank you for the great work Toni!

thats more like it.
additionally you can now map some keys to the following values:
VIDEOGRAB_RESTART
VIDEOGRAB_PAUSE
VIDEOGRAB_PREV
VIDEOGRAB_NEXT
this will control the virtual vcr - whether this will work, depends on the windows codec for the video file.

Sorry if this has been asked before. Ive searched but couldn't find a definitive answer to this.
kipper2k gave the answer to this in another thread.

is there a tool for workbench 3.x to move the screen position like
it was possible in Preferences tool on workbench 1.3?

#1) when using Preferences 1.3 on my Workbench 3.1, i can re-position the screen.
after a reboot, i can see, the position snaps back, from what i setup with preferences tool.
this really annoys me. any help here?

Many times advertising agencies and stuff depict a product in the best aesthetic sense. Oftentimes in a fake scene. Not necessarily how it actually works in the real world.

Doesn't this potentially damage the A500 case? Was the case actually meant to hold an Amiga monitor on top, at least partially?

Yeah, Overscan prefs for WB use. If you want to create a custom system-configuration in 2.x or newer for a CLI only disk, you'll have to use a copy of the 1.3 preferences.

This is due to iprefs loading the settings that were adjusted with the modern preferences editors. They save the settings in separate files in env:sys
