Question Music X / Dr T / Octalyzer / Soundtracker

if anyone has these 4 in ADF format, it would be superb.

apologies if ive asked for copyrighted software. Im not sure on the legal state of Music X or Dr.T, im sure Octa and Stracker were shareware.

Like with games requests, you still need to read the Forum rules, Amiga FAQ, Tutorials > How to find the ADF you are looking for ? message, as the same rules apply. Music-X is here, as well as OctaMED and SoundTracker (and variations). I'm going to post Dr. T KCS v1.6a to the Zone for you now.

OK, my Dr. T KCS v1.6a is corrupted (sigh), but I found v3.57 and posted it along with Dr. T's MIDI Recording Studio v1.1, The Copyist v1.6 Professional, and Tiger Cub. Are there any other Dr. T apps I am forgetting about?

Edit: Found another: Dr. T's KCS Level II. Also in the Zone.
In case anyone is curious, KCS=Keyboard Controlled Sequencer.

Twistin - Dude.........

what can i say other than a thousand thank u's.....

the reason i need these is because i have a load of old song files written in MusX / Octa / DrT. I want to load these song files up in the amiga, and somehow (havnt sussed it yet, maybe emu midi > com1 > back into the PC as midi data) convert them into a format that i can use with Cubase VST(PC).

Back in the early days of Acid House, i wrote and released several underground tunes (under the guise of Rhythm Science) using the above, and it would be nice to get them into a modern format.

thanks again Twistin!

as for reading the how to search for ADF's... the task gets ever harder i feel. I seemed to be drawing blanks. Finding Games isnt that hard i find, but specialist Apps are a little trickier.

If ya get them converted, bang up some some mp3's of yer stuff!

As for finding apps, you are right. As far as most of the population is concerned, the Amiga was a games machine. Finding apps is often a real challenge, despite the overwhelming number of great apps the Amiga hosted. I tried to find that KCS16.a to replace my stuffed copy, but to no avail. No matter, I have it somewhere on my real Amiga. But planetemu has a good deal of the TOSEC apps collection (a couple of the disks I posted are TOSEC recognized, but only in the newest dat, which planetemu isn't down with yet...) And like Frog pointed out, Exotica is THE place for Amiga audio.

i managed to get most of my old tunes recorded from the original DAT masters onto a compilation CDR. I will dig it out, Xing it, and pm u a link to my website.

jeez that planetemu site really does have a lame download system......

is it the advertising? does he think that by forcing me to wait 280 secs for each file that its going to make me read his pop up ads?

/rantmode off

Exactly. Hell, I just gave up on that shite. I was trying to download some Courbois stuff last night and ended up not even getting what I wanted. It was only a matter of time. If it's any good, corporate greed will almost always override quality. EAB and Google are a couple of rare exceptions to the rule.

PlanetLame, more like...

Anyone still have these? My roomy is trying to get into sequencing as his DJ friend gave him an old Akai sampler ... found an old Dr. T's KCS lying around and hooked the roomy up with an A500, midi i/f, and KCS ... he loves it... I'm trying to do him a favor and get him an updated version like Level II

He's a UNIX guy so any Amiga penetration into his life is a good thing

thanks much

Updating this 11 year old thread with a request for Music-X to the Zone, if anyone can help?

Better still, does anyone know how to read Music-X song files on Windows or Mac, or convert them to .MID?

music-x is already part of the TOSEc archive, you can find it on the eab ftp.
on the disks there is a converter for Music-X performances to midi .

Awesome thanks.

Music-X Disk 1 & 2 also now in The Zone for anyone who needs them.

The converter on Disk 2 allowed me to convert some 30 year old songs into MIDI files and hear them again. Sounded like yesterday!
