IDE 68K Adapter Drivers
Ok so as some of you know, I now have the adapter. The person I bought it from posted some information on a website, pictures, user feedback and problems, etc.
http://www.students.tut.fi/%7eleinone3/ide/ide68k.html Some of the pictures came from EAB, coze specifically. Now it's not so much putting the adapter in that I'm worried about. It's more or less whether or not there's any drivers available for this thing. God knows I can't program to save my life so I'm hoping there's something out there that can help. Maybe something on Aminet? I dunno. Any ideas guys? |

You don't need "drivers". Just the SCSI.device findable on any ks over 37300.
For auto-booting, you need the real 2.05 ROM (preferably 37350 and up) installed in your glorious A1000. |

yes, this board mimics gayle IDE port found on A600/A1200. Therefore driver is already there if you have the proper kickstart.

I don't mind not being able to autoboot, if I change my mind, there's that A1000 Kickstart adapter on eBay that I can pick up.
Will 1.3 recognize it once Workbench is booted up? |

no, gayle was introduced with kick start 2.05 of a600 (37.300) you need at least that or better, 3.1 kickstart. For an A1000, you need a kickstart adapter too I guess.

That's totally fine. I'm trying to retain the originality of the chips and the operating system as much as possible. There's other Amigas out there I can buy and tinker around with but the 1000 is special to me and I wanna keep it mostly original, with the exception of a working internal storage unit, of course
With this lha archive, I just extract the files and put them on a floppy? |

There's a Amigaguide file in the archive. It explains all quiet well. As I never used that patch, i've got o experience with it.
