need drivers for usb mouse adapter...
Hi, I just bought a usb mouse adapter for Miggy, it works great for 2 button use, but wanted to know if someone knows which drivers software I would use for it, to get scroll wheel working for use with a program like freewheel, here is a link to adapter from ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/AMIGA-ADAPTER-CO...item4cef9f4bc4 any help would be appreciated, thanks, Cori |

Ask the seller.
As there is no standard way to read the scroll wheel and additional buttons, there is no general driver for this. Without information about which hardware is used, it's impossible to say which driver is needed. Also most drivers are IP of the respective hardware manufacturer and may not be freely distributed. |

Nice price on these, i bought one and it works very nicely with a basic logitech mouse. Haven't tried the scroll function yet though. Maybe the cocolino drivers work with it, i'll check later today

Hi Cori
I have just received the same adapter you mention in your post but it refuses to work with a cheap USB mouse that I have. The mouse lights up but no movement or button acknowledgement. Could you please tell me what USB mouse you got working with this adapter, even on two buttons as I'd like to make use of this adapter? I have tried using the adapter with an A600 and an A1200. Kind regards Gavin. |

This adapter does not accept USB mice. It's a PS/2 adapter with an USB connector. You need a mouse which can be connected to PS/2, too.

Amiga USB Mouse Adapter
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Does that mean I'll have to buy a Ps2 => USB connector and attach a PS2 mouse or would I have to buy a USB PS2 compatible mouse? The Ebay advert is quite confusing as it suggests you just plug in a USB mouse and you are away. I'm confused. Kind regards Gavin. |

Indeed, you'll need a PS/2 compatible USB mouse. PZ. Last edited by Fingerlickin_B; 24 August 2010 at 14:08. |

???? I don't understand, but I can confirm, since I have that adapter, that my USB optical mouse, previously used on my notebook, works great on A1200 (wheel excluded). Perhaps there could be some compatible problems with some USB mouse. |

As far as I know, USB to PS2 mouse adapters do nothing but connect the wires. There is no logic inside, it is the mouse itself that must know how to talk to a PS/2 port when connected.
I suppose any USB mouse that comes bundled with a PS/2 adapter ought to do. You won't need the adapter for anything, but if the manufacturer includes one it's a pretty good indicator that the mouse can indeed do PS/2. |

Thanks for all your input guys. I tried a Logitech M100 but to no avail. I have bought this mouse on the cheap and hopefully it will work.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=300456985349 The Ebay advert suggests it does work as it says it supports an Intellimouse. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Amiga-USB-mous...geComputing_RL I eventully dragged out my old serial mouse for the time being which is better than the stock Amiga mice but doesn't work on anything other than workbench. All this bother to use decent mouse on my A1200. Stock Amiga mice seem to go hand in hand with RSI. |
