ICD Adram Docs
I have finished fitting a ICD Adram 540 to my A500 Rev 6a. Got it working well with 1MB agnus and it sees the 1MB of chip ram. The rest of the ram on the trapdoor slot does not autoconfig.
From my understanding, the rest of the RAM will only be configured with a addram command that comes on the install disk. I found the disk on the net but I am looking for the instructions manual and have not found that yet. Does anyone have a link to the docs? Thanks |

No, you're right, the link is dead!
This is where I found the link: http://bboah.claunia.com/adram.html (other information there might be useful). In the meantime, I'm still searching... Edit: More Info: Quote:

Hi omnicrom10,
I've uploaded the document to the Zone for you! Also, see this thread for more discussion on the AdRAM 540 memory expansion card: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=34822 PS. Not so hard, after all! |

For the future : you can also find it on the EAB file server (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43633) in the folder 'Amiga Documentation' (found it via a Lemon thread ).

Email sent! Thanks a bunch. GOT IT.. I added to to the zone for anyone else that might want to get it. How do we get these things added to the Amiga hardware reference sites?! Last edited by omnicron10; 22 December 2009 at 23:02. |

Good thinking! Email the file to Joerg Brenner at the Amiga hardware Database (joerg at amyx dot de) with an explanation of what it refers to. Thanks. Last edited by prowler; 22 December 2009 at 23:33. |

i thought once the 1mb chip ram mod was done to the main board that the rest of the ram in the trapdoor (anything over the 0.5mb now used as chip) was useless?

On the ICD if you run a wire from JP2-2 to the Gary daughter board then you can get more autoconfig ram past the 1 meg chip.
On the Expansion Systems Baseboard you need a GAL/PAL update to autoconfig the ram with a 1 meg chip system otherwise you have no fast ram on boot and stuff takes up more chip ram than it should. You get the fast ram once you run the program to activate the ram. I like the ICD a lot better. I had the Expansion Systems back in 93 for my A500 and it worked fine BUT I had to send away for the GAL/PAL update from them. I doubt most people had the updated GAL/PAL and I have no idea how you would get it now. |
