Cheap source for DB23 connectors and hoods

I am probably going to regret sharing this (for fear of the ebay scalpers buying them all), but I have found a cheap source of male and female DB23 connectors and the hoods for them:

Female DB23
http://www.iec-usa.com/cgi-bin/iec/f...X7Ntu;DB23FS;2

Male DB23
http://www.iec-usa.com/cgi-bin/iec/f...7Ntu;DB23MS;11

Hoods:

And yes, they have them in stock. I ordered a bunch of male connectors and hoods a month ago (for building Gotek external drive cables). Spoke to them on the phone and they had hundreds of the connectors on hand.

I'm not sure what their policy is for shipping overseas, but it's worth checking them out. No more need for shaving down DB25 connectors.

Sweet. It might be worth putting together a bulk order if there are high shipping and customs fees...

Nice find,
shipping and import taxes would add a little here in EU but maybe AmigaKit could do a builk order so that their RGB2Scart cables don't have to use sawn off DB25s ;-)

Hi,

I bought a batch from IEC-USA back in 2013, it was not that cheap. For 50 DB-23 sockets and 50 backshells, shipping was 56USD/46GBP, I then had to pay VAT on the UK value (was about £30 back then) an import duty of around 10% (£15) and brokerage fees about £16, so around £107 in fees, would be slightly higher now as the UK/USD exchange rate has got worse.

They cost me £2.20 each and I sold them for £2.50 each and I had a number of people aske me if I could sell them for less!!!!!! I sold about 10 pairs in 18 months, then someone made me an offer for the remaining stock, which I took. I did ask Amigakit at the time, price was too high for them.

Because sawing off DB25 connectors and selling sub-standard products is more to their liking…
