I see. So when a visitor connects to the ftp, he's auto-logged as user: 'ftp'.
Quote:
Only 20 people can be online to the FTP at a time using that account, so you might get "server is full, please try again later" or similar.
That's what I understood when you talked about empty slots. Before that I thought an anonymous could only download 20 items.

The "ftp" username is not connected to your EAB forum username and have nothing to do with post count rules etc.
And that username, ftp, is automatically given to the user, not need to manually log 'ftp' in.

Hope that clears things up and that a mod can modify the first post to change it to 50 posts required (down from 100). Perhaps its time we create a new forum thread for the FTP that I can edit myself =)
A lot clearer now thanks.

Well, not really. If you use a "real" FTP client, like FileZilla, you need to still enter a username ("ftp") with any password. However, if you connect from a browser, like the link on the first post ( ftp://ftp:amiga@grandis.nu ) you can see that it actually has username:ftp and password:amiga in the URL itself. Password can be anything so "amiga" is just a .. random word =)

Ah, nope =) Its just slow as hell when you log in anonymously with the "ftp" username. You can still, in theory, download the entire FTP with it. It'll probably take a few years though.

Next attempt from my ISP to hook up my 10GBit line this afternoon. Expect some downtime.

I've replaced the internal switches and cables, so internally I'm already running 10GBit, but the FTP box & firewalls have not yet got their new network card, so we'll be stuck with 1GBit for a few more weeks. They are fu**ing expensive!

Edit: All done! Now 10GBit to the internet =). In April, I hope I can get this kind of power available to the EAB FTP as well.

Too bad the internet speedtests can not measure against 10GBit. The best was bredbandskollen where I reached 6.5GBit.

Can this rule be deleted from the EAB File Server, because people can go away on holidays longer than 5 days or can't log in for some other reason within those 5 days:
b) Your last post must not be older than 5 days ago.

I will travel away for at least 4 month soon and have no access to a computer.

I just tried with FileZilla and via the web (Vivaldi browser) and had the same result.
