Thanks for that, but what I want to know is, are files in the folder just the same files as the SPS collection in TOSEC, or are the files in the Extended ADF folder on FTP different versions?
Could these have been uploaded before the SPS in Tosec?

These extended .ADFs have probably been made out of .IPFs

For example, dlfrsilver has the complete .IPF set but won't share anything that isn't pubic...

Instead he creates extended .ADFs out of these.

Thanks for that. I'll just keep this folder as well ;-)

Hm, thought I posted this here already. Apparently not..

Had a chat with DannyBoy and the mirror is offline for the time being. Unknown if/when it will come back up. Im setting up a third offline backup this weekend to keep everything safe, but for now, you are stuck with the main FTP and the Google drive backup.

The mirror host name (ftp.bit-rot.org) is redirected to the main FTP at the moment. I've removed the mirror link button on eabsearch (http://grandis.nu/eabsearch).

As for right now, I'd just like to thank DannyBoy for hosting it for as long as he did.

Do we need a new mirror? I do not know. That is not up to me really but the mods of this forum. DamienD would probably have taken that decision if some asshole had not driven him away. The first page in this thread can use updating to remove the mirror information as well please.

Yes indeed; thank you kindly DannyBoy for hosting the mirror all this time

...I haven't gone yet; still in 2 minds.

Personally I don't think we do. You have things well under control and for people without an account they can just use the GoogleDrive

This thread is about the EAB FTP, not the forum =)

Thanks for the mirror, but now that it's gone, i don't think we need a new one

There's the google drive and the option to create an upload account to have maximum speed in download

So, it seems to me that all needs are well covered in this way

Thanks to Turran too for this incredible resource for all Amiga fan

And so it begins =)

Still not 10Gbit internet or 10Gbit networks cards, but my economy does not really allow me to get it all at once.

Scary how expensive 10Gbit stuff are for consumers. Hope it takes of so the prices go down. Its not exactly new technology.

Since the mirror went away, we've had 20 "ftp" accounts online a lot more then usual.

Use google mirror or keep trying. 18/20 online now so 2 slots free =)

I don't get it.

What are online ftp accounts ?

When the post limit was set to 100 a few days ago I could still keep downloading stuff from the ftp past the 20 thingy warning, as anonymous, by just ignoring it.

By the way, if forum posts limit is now 50, a mod forgot to edit the 1st post of this thread.

If you log in with the username "ftp", you can download as much as you want, but you're gonna go slow, at 50Kbit/sec max. Only 20 people can be online to the FTP at a time using that account, so you might get "server is full, please try again later" or similar. The "ftp" username is not connected to your EAB forum username and have nothing to do with post count rules etc.

If you register an account instead ( https://grandis.nu/eabadduser/ ), you are not locked by speed and can download 50GB a week by default.
However, to do that, you must be
1: A member of the EAB forums (You are).
2: Have 50 posts written (You have).
3: Have written something in the last 5 days (You have).

Registering your own account also gives you access to share/upload stuff to the FTP. To do that, simple create a folder with your username (case sensitive) in /~Uploads.

If you can not register your own account based on the above 3 rules but have something fun to share with us, we can bypass the rules and create the account for you.

Hope that clears things up and that a mod can modify the first post to change it to 50 posts required (down from 100). Perhaps its time we create a new forum thread for the FTP that I can edit myself =)
